19.01.2022 Finally we see some glorious and deeply needed rain! My magnolias, in fact, ALL my gardens, are LOVING the wet weather. . . Magnolia Little Gem is a dwarf variety of the evergreen magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora), but only a quarter of its size. It is a compact growing, evergreen small tree, perfectly suited to the home garden as a specimen plant in lawns, garden beds, as a hedge or even in large decorative pots.... . Having said that though, Ive seen them grow out to nearly 8m high with a span of 4-5m! Little Gem my foot! . . #garden #maintenance #sydney #landscape #landscapephotography

16.01.2022 Received an extraordinary email last week. From a dear friend who so happens to be an amazing film maker and producer. I spent an amazing time with Vanessa, here is her email. Today I’d like to share the story of a man. A man who isn’t simply a landscape gardener, but a man has transmuted his past into something truly unique. Has lived hard and used that to create a life and business that is deeply spiritual, creative and of service. ... He's quite simply remarkable. Plus I personally think he is a bit of an alchemist or poet of nature. He sees and makes things even more beautiful than they already are. I’ve met John around the entrepreneurial traps over the years. When he saw my own film, he contacted me and told me how deeply moved he was. It was this that compelled him to tell his own story and let the world see him even more clearly. John’s work is a heartfelt expression of his creativity and his commitment to doing an exceptional job. Check out what we got up to here. https://vimeo.com/217977433

11.01.2022 Seeing as its a tad damp, I dont think well need this for our magical gardens

09.01.2022 At last! After 2 years of first removing all our mature gardens prior to knocking down our old residence and building anew, we have FINALLY popped our gorgeous Japanese maple into its large pot forever home. 1100 plants, shrubs and trees were removed, potted and bagged up of which, over an 18 month period, we only lost 3!... The maple lived in a 400 ltr bag for 18 months after carefully removing her out of our front yard. She's dedicated to my Mandy Amanda wife's dear dad, who sadly passed 3 years ago. He was the best father, father-in-law and grandpa one could ask for, down to earth, irreverent, loving and very kind. He's sadly missed. Mandy scattered his ashes into the pot as we settled her in. It took 7 of us to lift and settle her, to which I am deeply grateful to all who helped. One of those is one of my Aussie humoured, terribly irreverent, tell it as it is, son. No Snow Flake here! Can't possibly be like his Dad - or Grandpa - at all. LOL! I asked the boys to pop some fertiliser on her to encourage her along, to which he promptly replied, "Well Dad, I don't think it needs any blood and bone..." I think Grandpa would've laughed his heart out. It's the ultimate in recycling! #landscapes #landscape_captures #gardening #gardens #mygarden #secretgarden #instadaily #photooftheday #generallawnsandlandscapes #flowers #nature #flower #plants #organic
