12.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Q vault for coming in first place, Fruqco in second place and Honeycomb as our runners up! It's truly inspiring to not only hear about all the problems students are passionate about but to see students take the initiative to solve these problems. A special thank you to all the mentors and judges who volunteered their weekend to help our young entrepreneurs and a tremendous thank you to our venue host, Canva!... Tag your friends!
10.01.2022 Gen E Genies: Mel Introducing our Co-Head of Brand - Melissa Qiu! April 2021, marks Melissa's 4th anniversary at Generation Entrepreneur. Melissa first joined the marketing team after participating in our programs and has played a crucial part behind our creative initiatives whether it be filming promotional videos, taking photos at our programs, or creating graphics. If you ever had the beautiful opportunity of meeting Melissa, you'll know that she is truly an inspiratio...n when it comes to getting things done to the highest quality. What we appreciate most about Melissa is how much love she shows to the people around her. No matter how busy her schedule is, she will always take the time out of her day to lend a helping hand. When asked How has GE shaped you as a person?, this is what Mel had to say: I came to GE as an incredibly naive 16 year old, bright-eyed and perhaps a little too eager to take on any challenge. I did not succeed in taking on all these challenges though - I made mistakes, spent days trying to figure out new software, made some terrible videos, but most importantly, I had support every step of the way. I grew up here at GE. Each and every one of the team members as well as the students who I have had the pleasure of meeting in our programs, have shaped who I am today. I joined GE because I loved the energy and passion that radiated from Initiate 48, but I stayed at GE because of the people; the team who built a company up from scratch and remind me every day that we are capable of achieving things bigger than ourselves and the students who have the most brilliant ideas, creating incredible solutions to real-world problems. I am reminded that regardless of your background, if there is something you care about, you can take action on it and create something that will help others too. I currently study science and dentistry, which seems completely misaligned with the entrepreneurial industry, but I believe this is a testament to the universality and importance of the skills that we learn here. I am humbled to be able to work alongside a team of such talented and compassionate individuals. I cannot wait for us to take GE global.
03.01.2022 Humans of i48: Nicholas Choi What does entrepreneurship mean to you It means so many things. It means learning, failure and growth. This weekend I’ve learnt so much that I don’t think I can ever learn anywhere else. I’ve encountered failure this weekend, but through failure, you learn how to work with your team and most importantly, how to overcome it.... - Nicholas Choi, i48 April 2021 participant (featured centre of photo)
