20.01.2022 Rosemary pinned to the chest is a familiar sight at Anzac Day services around Australia, with the tradition beginning when a wounded digger brought back a rosemary bush from Gallipoli and sprigs of this bush were worn to honour the fallen. With this in mind, our Intergenerational program came together to make the sprigs of rosemary ready for Anzac Day commemorations. #ANZACDay2021 #intergenerational #generationsearlylearning #earlylearning Chaffey Aged Care

13.01.2022 Here’s a little message from our Generations family to yours...

10.01.2022 Watching flowers grow is an amazing science lesson for children of all ages plus who doesn't like singing the song "I like the flowers, I like the daffodils"? Today our Generations children enjoyed a good old chat about the flowers on such a nice Autumn day, and WOW look how much they have grown. #intergenerational #autumn #outsideplay

09.01.2022 We caught up with education alumna Kim Biasio this month as part of an article on ways to live well into old age. Kim is in a unique position to speak on the to...pic, as a teacher at Merbein's innovative Generations Early Learning childcare centre, which is co-located at an aged care home. The centre aims to improve the wellbeing of aged care residents while offering new experiences to children through intergenerational activities. As one of the first of its kind in Australia, it’s giving Kim a firsthand account of the value of learning for young and old. The residents walk by the children’s centre windows and when the door opens, it’s very special. I watch their faces change. They smile, and their eyes smile, too, she says. I’ve always seen learning as a lifelong process. Education isn’t just 13 years of schooling, it’s beyond that. Continuing to learn helps you discover new things, make new connections and keep your brain active. You create that feeling of a young mindset each time you realise, ‘Hey, this is something I didn’t know! There’s still so much I can learn.’ Read the full story here https://www.latrobe.edu.au//3-ways-to-live-well-into-old-a
