16.01.2022 We cannot allow the political events of our nation to divide the spiritual family of God. We must choose to be Faithful to God and one another by practicing Grace that leads to Peace.

10.01.2022 Enjoyed Christmas worship service with Pastor Mani & Mary Pillay with some of their church members at Living Light Wesleyan church in Maitland. My husband Ps Sione also shared a lovely message on the Shepherds of Bethlehem titled ‘The privilege of the lowly!’

07.01.2022 Gentleness is almost completely missing in our conversations today. However Grace that leads to Peace will produce a Godly Gentleness toward those around us.

06.01.2022 End of year devotional for the church. Australian like the rest of the world is looking forward to the dawn of a new day. A new day that ends a strenuous year t...hat has left many in a state of fatigue. It is a fatigue that having a holiday or a break may not fully relieve. What we may need is to find something refreshing that renews us deep within. This renewal can look different for all of us. Sadly some burnout because they keep expelling energy with very little awareness of their own personal needs. It reminds me of the joke I read the other day. A pastor said to their spouse I can’t take time off because the Devil does not have any time off. The spouse replied I think you need a better role model. Even God rested as it says, "And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day. from all his work that he had done." (Genesis 2:2 ESV) It is worth noting that resting is not collapsing. For some their week is so full that coming to the day of rest is like coming to the end of a gruelling marathon and collapsing. Now we may have weeks like that and sadly even seasons like that. However, it is not healthy if this is the continual story of our life. Yes, we may have come to the end of this year and fallen over the line with a sigh, saying I have made it. To you, I say well done, it has not been easy. Now take a breath, rest for a while, regain your energy. As I share this in the light of the year we have just had with the knowledge that the pandemic is not over, I have to remind myself that while we have been shaken our God has not. He is still on the throne. The problem for us is that we can lose our perspective, and with it, we can lose our peace because we have taken our eye off our God. Thus the scripture comes to mind. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV) A crucial part of our resting is waiting on the Lord. As I share these words with you they also speak to me. This is my prayer as we close out 2020 and begin a new year, that we would find the renewal of not just our energy but the renewal of our communion with God. May our walk with Jesus in 2021 be sweeter than 2020. A New Year blessings to you and your loved ones. Rev. Rex E Rigby National Superintendent Wesleyan Methodist Church Australia

01.01.2022 Blessed Are the Merciful Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:7 Those who have received mercy are those who show mercy. And only those who show mercy will be those who continue to receive mercy. Showing others mercy isn’t just softness. It is sympathy that serves. Jesus doesn’t merely save us from something, He saves us for something. He wants to express His life through us as we serve others.... We are beautiful people and we have beautiful churches but the thing that is going to touch the lives of our communities are not our buildings but our merciful acts of kindness. One by one, we can make a change as we go out and show the love of Christ to our neighbours. People do not care how much we know, until they know how much we care.

01.01.2022 Unworthy Preachers For the pastors have become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered. Jeremiah 10:21 (Webster’s Bible Translation) I’ve listened to many preachers and I’ve witnessed a lot of pastoral brutality and harsh ministerial attitudes are displayed in some pulpit today. Some preachers have not been in touch with the Lord. They have not had their hearts broken and their souls overwhelmed with... compassion before speaking for God. Some preachers are offensive, angry, and resentful rather than inspired when they preach. Some speak out of prejudice, narrow-mindedness and discrimination rather than from spiritual conviction. Such preaching is unworthy of God as Prophet Jeremiah says in above verse, The shepherds are senseless and do not inquire of the LORD; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered.
