22.01.2022 NEW ASPHALT SURFACE Last year, Geneva applied for funding through the Local Schools Community Fund and were successful in receiving $10,000 towards the resurfacing of our asphalt. Interestingly, the original asphalt was put down in 1979, so has served the school well for over 40 years. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the Australian Government for this funding contribution to the new asphalt project.

21.01.2022 Term 1 starts tomorrow! We can't wait to see you all. You will notice that our Front Office building is well under way with construction. Please be mindful of this upon drop off/pick up. You will also notice that we have a new path for students to walk to and from the carpark. This will take students past our temporary Office and ensure safety for all. NEW FAMILIES: any new families starting at Geneva, we advise that you come before 8:30 to beat the rush. ... HEALTHY LUNCHES: we strongly encourage students having healthy & nutritious lunches to sustain them through their school day. We look forward to our new school year starting and seeing God's faithfulness continue.

21.01.2022 SCHOOL BANKING IS BACK! School Banking Day will be every Tuesday starting on our first day of Term 3 (Tuesday, July 21st). School Banking is a fun, interactive and engaging way to help young Australians learn about money and practice good savings habits. For each weekly deposit made at school, students will receive a Dollarmites token. Once they collect 10 tokens, they can redeem them for a School Banking Reward. In Term 3 participants can choose a tomato seed kit, a magic mi...st drink bottle and many other fun rewards! If your child has previously participated in School Banking, or has an existing Commonwealth Bank Youthsaver account, they can start banking straight away by bringing their Dollarmites deposit wallet to school on School Banking day. 19.01.2022 Geneva Community Update Good morning and what wonderful weather we have had to start our Term break! We have a few notes to update our Geneva community: - Semester 1 Reports were mailed on Friday, you should expect to see them in your mailboxes from Today. We encourage you to read the report along with your Childs ILP and we will be in contact early Term 3 to organise a Parent Teacher meeting if necessary.... - The Front Office is closed this week for a well earned break. We will be back in the office for the last two weeks of the holidays until 4pm each day, pop in if you need to collect uniforms or any other urgent matters. - We are aware that there are still students waiting for Winter Tunics. We have been informed they have been dispatched and will contacted the appropriate families as soon as they arrive. We hope you have a brilliant break, we cant wait to see you when we are all well rested and ready to start Semester 2!

19.01.2022 Our year 11/12 class enjoyed their time at our Interlaken campus this week. Kayaking, Christmas dinner, hot tub, camp fire & lots of laughs. A great way to wrap up a great year!

A few pieces of key information for our Geneva community:... School resumes on TUESDAY, July 21st Classes wearing SPORTS UNIFORM on our first day back: Kinder, Prep, Year 1 4 & Year 6. Classes wearing FORMAL UNIFORM on our first day back: Year 5 & Secondary students. Mid-year exams commence for our Senior students on Tuesday, please continue to pray for their last few days of revision and preparation, and that they be rewarded for their studies so far this year. Our first GEN for Term 3 will be full of information about exciting events happening in Term 3. See you all on Tuesday :)

13.01.2022 The Outdoor Education students embarked to the Walls of Jerusalem National Park for a three day expedition hike last week. On the first day they stopped at Devils Gullet before reaching the carpark, where the group walked to the Wild Dog Creek tent platforms for the night. The second day began with a 5am early start to potentially arrive on top of ‘The Temple’ for sunrise, however the clouds would not clear while they waited. The group continued on through Dixon’s Kingdom and to the summit of 'Mount Jerusalem' for morning tea and a quick nap. The afternoon arrived and the group climbed ‘Solomons Throne’ before stopping at the 'Pool of Bethesda’ for a swim. After another night at Wild Dog, a smaller group of students tried sunrise again with a more fulfilling view from Solomons Throne.

07.01.2022 Tomorrow is our Book Fair! We encourage all students to participate in this fun event by dressing up in something relative to our theme ARCTIC ADVENTURE. If they do not dress in a costume, students can wear casual clothes. -Students will have an opportunity during the morning to make a purchase from the wish lists they have brought home. Please provide correct monies or pay online with the details provided. Alternatively, family is welcome to attend and make a purchase at t...he Book Fair from 12pm. -Lunch starts at 12:30pm when our free sausage sizzle and activities will commence. We have a jumping castle, face painting, cake stall and more! The costume parade will start at 2:15pm, and we would love to see our families attend!

07.01.2022 REMINDER: Cross Country is tomorrow! Registration and directions at 11am with races commencing from 11:30am. Students are to wear their sports uniform, however we encourage competitors to bring a change of old shorts, t-shirt and sneakers to change into for running the Cross Country. Extra under clothes may be required as the track is very muddy & wet! Finish time is 2:00pm, GENEVA BUS RUNS HOME WILL LEAVE 1 HOUR EARLIER at 2:15pm, this means students will arrive home and hou...r earlier than normal. 02.01.2022 This week our Year 11/12 students participated in Community Service week. They have had an insight into SES volunteering, had a visit from a fire and hospitality worker and made over 400 biscuits to supply to Heaven’s Kitchen. The students also spent Monday at Loaves & Fishes in Devonport, where they packed 500 food hampers for distribution in Hobart, and sorted over 3 tonnes of assorted fruits and veggies. A good day was had by all!
