23.01.2022 We are on our 8th week since opening Genius Brinsmead to the community, during this time the children and educators have been adding to our garden, starting off with tomatoes and beans and more recently we planted some lemon grass which aids as a natural mosquito repellent. Children are supported to care for their environment, to help keep the garden healthy through watering daily and pulling up weeds, observing changes such as yellowing leaves, flo...wering and fruiting. The benefits children develop through our gardening program are; a healthy immune system, wonder for their environment, healthy self esteem through responsibility, physical fun, love and nurture, nutrition and lots more. #gardenguru #itsgenius #GeniusBrinsmead

23.01.2022 In the Sunset room we celebrated Diwali by making salt dough tea light candle holders. The children also made Rangoli art using different coloured split peas and rice. #itsgenius

This mini-world provided a nice sibling interaction between our mini side and big side children. ... 03.01.2022 Cooking Guru Today in our Windmill room we extended on our interest in home corner with a real cooking experience - mini quiches! Our children assisted in every step, they cut the mushrooms, tomato, and ham; poured the cheese, cracked the eggs and assembled their quiches in the tin It was exciting to observe the children as they learned new skills and demonstrated existing ones.
