22.01.2022 ~ W A T E R C O L O U R B U T T E R F L I E S ~ Today our Toddlers began extending on their colour recognition by creating watercolour butterflies. The children explored their fine motor skills to manipulate the spray bottles to unleash various colours onto their paper using red, green, pink and blue. The children carefully watched as the different colours settled on their butterfly, creating new colours and even spotty patterns. 20.01.2022 ~ TODDLER HATCH AND RELEASE INQUIRY PROJECT ~ As you may have followed, our Toddlers have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. Our toddler educators, Hannah , Mikayla and Ashleigh have kindly organised a hatch and release experience for the children as they monitor and observe over a short period as they eagerly wait for their chrysalis to form and transform into beautiful butterflies.... Santa left behind his very own special mail box for us to keep until Christmas eve for all the children to post a special letter to Santa. 13.01.2022 ~ O u t d o o r S l u m b e r ~ As the warmer months approach there will be more opportunities to be outdoors and enjoying the fresh air. The children at Genius Seaford enjoy their daily naps outside in nature. Studies show the advantages to children sleeping outdoors include increased immunity and boost cognitive and physical development by stimulating their senses with sounds, smell light and the warmth of the wind.

13.01.2022 ~W O R L D G R A T I T U D E D A Y~ Today in recognition of Gratitude day, nursery, junior kinder, pre kinders and toddlers all joined together to enjoy a roast chicken lunch. The table was decorated with a beautiful floral centrepiece of flowers that all the children had made earlier last week. Junior kinder even bought their own freshly chopped parsley to add to the potato bake. It was lovely to see all the children looking forward to sitting and enjoying lunch together as a group. Lots of discussions around the table amongst the children about their friends, siblings and enjoying time together as a group. Everyone agreed that friendships are very important to nurture and celebrate.

13.01.2022 ~ Remembrance Day 2020 ~ Today recognised the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month,the children here at Genius Seaford conducted a minutes’ silence where they observed and dedicated respect towards those lives we lost fighting to protect our nation. After the pre kinder children from Waratah room had completed their minute silence they shared group discussions filled with many questions for their educators to answer followed by poppy creative arts.

01.01.2022 Rainbow Fish Today the children joined educator Ashleigh for a group story, reading "The Rainbow Fish" by Marcus Pfister. The children have a current group focus on the rainbow fish which is in relation to the upcoming national sea week. The story raised discussions between Ashleigh and the children, providing opportunities to be able to recongise emotions, sharing and a sense of belonging.
