25.01.2022 Delighted to have been added to the DistroKid Singer/Songwriter Playlist on Spotify as voted for and curated by the public. She's up for a week so check it out!

24.01.2022 Did I mention this?

24.01.2022 I’ve waited 6 months...and as of today, Songs From the Kitchen Table is available to stream on Spotify. If you like what you hear, maybe you can buy a CD...for your mum

23.01.2022 I was so looking forward to this fabulous event! COVID-19 has sure had an impact on our creative lives. Wendy McDougall is an amazing photographer and a super cool human being. She even plays the ukulele! Together with Simon Marnie and Jon Wilby and myself, this was going to be a cracker! Please check out Wendy's book and maybe buy yourself a copy. I'm in it! It's a really great gift too for lovers of music...and ain't that everyone?... https://www.wendymcdougall.com.au/

22.01.2022 For the next 24 hours, Bandcamp are waving their revenue share for all sales. This is a fabulous way to support independent musicians. I have my Albums on Bandcamp and they are as cheap as chips! You can choose a CD of either album, or a CD bundle with both, or just go full digital! All physical sales also give you an immediate free digital download so you don’t even have to wait for the postie to come! Music is great for your mental health too. There are so many great artists to buy from. Also, some of them sell tea towels too...and I just LOVE a good tea towel

22.01.2022 To celebrate the fact that I have an actual live gig tomorrow - with real people - in an actual venue - I'm having a little sale! Head on over to Bandcamp and grab yourself a bargain. CD's of original music make fantastic xmas presents. Not only are you shopping local and independent, you're sharing the joy that only music can bring. PLUS you get an immediate digital download to keep for yourself. Convinced?! I am! If I didn't already have a copy I'd be heading there myself...in fact it's such a bargain that I think I will! #songsfromthekitchentable #selfies #singersongwriter #pleasebuymycds #ShareTheJoy

21.01.2022 There are a few tix left for tonight. If you’re dithering you’d best get to it! It’s gonna be beautiful

21.01.2022 Come on people! It’s an easy thing to do, to thank all of the front line workers. 7pm tonight Wouldn’t it be amazing if you opened the door and could hear everyone clapping and cheering streets apart. The U.K did it - let’s get out there and do it too. Remember Ladies and Gents, on Sunday 29th March at 7pm can you all either stand on your doorsteps or open a window and clap and cheer as loudly as you can for all the frontline workers - Medical professionals and staff, c...arers, food and medicine deliver drivers, shop workers, teachers, bankers and anyone else on the frontline, risking their own lives to make yours better. Let’s try and get this around the country. Copy and paste and keep it moving to as many as we can.

21.01.2022 Thank you thank you thank you - a million times thank you! Quite a few CDs and a tonne of downloads were snapped up during the 24 hour Bandcamp event. I really hope that you enjoy the music...and I’m super grateful for your suport. I’m one lucky woman!

21.01.2022 Super happy and excited to tell you that I have a gorgeous concert coming up in Orange on December 5! Hosted by JAM Orange at the beautiful Bloomfield Hall, this one will be a treat. It's a double header, featuring not only my full band, but also the fabulous John Kane and Andy Gordon. It's going to be a great night of original acoustic music and you should most definitely come along and bring all of your friends!... It is a COVID safe event and tickets are very limited. This will be my only concert for the remainder of 2020 and I would absolutely love to see you. Truly Tickets are available here: https://jamorange.com.au//genni-kane-band-andy-gordon-jo/

20.01.2022 We had a lovely night at Bloomfield Hall. What a treat! Thank you to everyone who braved the rain and the 'Rona to come along and show your support for live music. It was just magic! On a personal note, I'm so grateful to all of the friends who came - even some from Melbourne! Thanks also to my beautiful band of lovely humans. Husband Jon, son Jackson, brother John and friend Christian. Playing with family and friends is a rare and special treat. It was also our 34th wedding... anniversary and the perfect way to celebrate. John Kane and Andy Gordon were fabulous as always. Even the songs about oysters...I think... Marty Parks did an incredible job on sound. We always know we are in safe heads when you're behind the desk. Thanks to all the volunteers from JAM Orange You are doing great things for our local music scene, and I for one am really grateful. That's it for me in 2020. Like many I'll be glad to see the back of this strange year. Lovely to have bookended the year with some memorable gigs. Here's hoping that 2021 will be a better one for everyone. Take care xx

18.01.2022 Just a few more sleeps until my one and only gig for the rest of this year. It’s going to be lovely and I’d hate you to miss out! I’ll be playing songs from both of my solo albums with my full band - and that’s a rare treat! Not only that but it’s a double bill with John Kane and Andy Gordon! And if that’s not enough... There will be CDs for sale! Christmas presents for all your friends and finally the perfect gift for your aunty Valda! I don’t know if you actually have an a...unty Valda but just insert the name of that difficult-to-buy-a gift-for person in your life and know that your problems are solved! All you need to do is click on the link in the comments and get yourself some tickets. Did I mention that there would be wine?

18.01.2022 Until 5pm today, Bandcamp are passing on 100% of sales to artists. That’s no fees or charges to me for any purchases before 5 o’clock today! If you would like to buy any of my music this is the best time to do it. I have CDs and digital versions of my songs that have all been made with love and are ready and waiting to get in your ears. But wait! There’s more! There is a tonne of amazing independent music to be found on Bandcamp. Unlike the other streaming services, Bandcamp actually passes the money from sales directly the artists and also allows us to set our own prices. So if you feel the need for some music for your soul...or to pass the time in lockdown...or even for dad, please go and have a virtual wander through the Bandcamp store. I’m pretty confident that you won’t regret it

16.01.2022 A little ISO offering on a Saturday afternoon. Dust & Bones is my love song to Millthorpe. This one’s from the loungeroom rather than the kitchen table

16.01.2022 Today, the wonderful Bandcamp platform is supporting musicians by passing on 100% of sales to the artists. If you need some new music to feed your soul during these strange and difficult times, please consider purchasing some of my music or one of the other independent musicians who use Bandcamp. Thank you x

15.01.2022 Here's a lovely thing! Today, Bandamp are waving the admin fees for every music purchase you make - meaning 100% of sales will flow through to the creators. Lots and lots of independent musicians, like myself, use Bandcamp as our shopfront. Please go and take a browse. You might be surprised to see who's there and the quality of the music that is available. Cheer yourself up with some new music, and know that you are cheering up an independent musician with every purchase (I'll put their full statement in the comments if you would like to read it)

14.01.2022 Huge thanks to the lovely people who have sought me out and bought my music in the past few days. Amazing! I'm really grateful to be able to write and record songs and always blown away that anyone wants to buy them! The cancellation of live gigs and festivals has hit musicians and other performing artists very hard in the hip pocket. Buying directly from an independent musician helps them all to make ends meet. Spotify is great..but buying a digital or physical version dire...ctly from an independent musician is even better. A few people have asked me about doing a live-stream or some such thing. To be honest I haven't really felt like playing music this past few weeks. I have been happy to bunker down in my little village, do some cooking, some songwriting and some quilt-making. I promise that I'll do something soon...and thank you for asking me. Keep safe and well in these crazy times. Hold your loved ones close in your heart. Thanks so much to all of the front-line workers who are working so hard. I for one am extremely grateful. Much love xx

14.01.2022 Once again Bandcamp are paying 100% of sales to artists from 5pm today for 24 hours. This is a great opportunity to try some new music and directly support the artists who make it. To celebrate this event, I have created a Spotify playlist for your listening pleasure called 'Music you should buy on Bandcamp instead of listening to for free'. I'd love you to have a browse and if something tickles your ears you can make yourself (and an independent musician) feel great by headi...ng over to Bandcamp and purchasing some fresh new independent music. I have of course picked the music that I like to listen to so it may not be to your taste...but I reckon you'll find something! 13.01.2022 I was recently contacted by Tom from Aldora Britain Records - AB Records about joining some other artists in his new compilation album. Tom's compilations take all the hard work out of finding new music. He listens out for new and interesting releases on Bandcamp and then releases them as a digital album. Kinda like Spotify playlists - except we all get paid! 'The Remedies' was released yesterday. If you'd like to discover some new music go check it out!

13.01.2022 Well how about that?! The lovely Central West christmas album Dreaming of a Green Christmas raised...wait for it...$40,000.00 for Lifeline Central West!!!! Wow! Just wow!!!!! #fromlittlethingsbigthingsgrow #havingalittlecry

12.01.2022 I’m a huge fan of Bandcamp. I have all of my music here. This article explains why

11.01.2022 I’ve been feeling a little introspective in these strange times. Spent some time in my kitchen yesterday recording this live performance of my song ‘20,000 Days’. In true ISO fashion, Jon did his bits from the other end of the house! It’s a long song...so you may need some refreshments. I dunno what’s going on with the crazy eyes...but here goes anyway. Thanks for watching x

11.01.2022 From 5pm today Bandcamp are once again giving 100% of all sales to the artist. This is a great support to independent musicians. I’d love you to buy my albums - they are available to download or as a CD. I’d also love you to buy any musician’s music today from Bandcamp. So if you have a few dollars to spare and would like some new music, today is the day! Thank you

10.01.2022 It's been such a sad week. I absolutely don't claim to be a victim of domestic violence, but like most people, I do have friends in this awful situation. Strong women who now doubt themselves. I hope that if this is your story, you find strength and help x #betterthanthis

06.01.2022 Here's one I missed! Thanks so much to Sue Jarvis and Country Music Capital News. So lovely to still be around after all of these years! (December, 2019)

06.01.2022 Well hello! I know that it's been a while, but it feels right now to poke my head out of my hidey-hole and give you a wave. This year has been a huge challenge to everyone and I guess it's not over yet, but the clouds do seem to have cleared a little. At the beginning of June I did a really thorough job of tripping over some air and landing on my wrist. It was broken here and broken there and torn somewhere else just for good measure. After 16 weeks of therapy, pain, and frus...tration it has finally come good! I can tell you that no-one is more relieved than my saint of a husband COVID-19 has meant that every concert and festival this year has been cancelled. It has been a devastating blow to musicians and creatives everywhere. There has been an incredible support network of musicians bolstering each other up and finding new ways to make music. I can't tell you how much I miss seeing all of my friends at folk festivals and gigs. Maybe, just maybe, we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. The beginning of a new normal. Which brings me to some very exciting news. I HAVE A GIG!!!!!!! I am just about out of my tree with excitement to be planning a show with my full band in COVID safe, sit down concert mode. It will be in Orange on the evening of Saturday December 5 and as soon as I can I'll let you know all the details. I just thought I'd give you the headsup so you can put it in your diary! I've been thinking that my band needs a name. The best I can come up with right now is 'Genni Kane and her band of lovely men whose names all start with J except the one who starts with C'. I think I'm on a winner with this! Here's a picture to show you how lovely they are x

06.01.2022 It was twenty years yesterday since we moved to this magical little village to try country life for 6 months. As I say in the song...’we only came for a minute, she didn’t see it that way, she wrapped her arms around me...and I stayed’. It also happened to be my favourite husband’s birthday. What a gift! I think it was meant to be!

04.01.2022 My beautiful friend Wendy McDougall is an amazing photographer! I can bet that many of the iconic photographs taken of your favourite musician were probably taken by Wendy. As a young musician I was also fortunate to be photographed by Wendy and she remains one of the photographers that I have always felt comfortable with...and that’s saying something as I really hate having my photo taken! Wendy has come up with an idea to help promote the wares of musicians and others dur...ing this very difficult time for the planet. She calls it PLUG or BUY. I’m going to let her explain it by cutting and pasting below. It’s a great idea...and as the owner of her book I can tell you that you should DEFINITELY order one! It’s the perfect gift for a music lover. I promise xx From Wendy... PLUG OR BUY Yesterday I posted this request for some book sales..[see below]... the request still stands but this morning I want to add a new angle on this. I call it PLUG OR BUY.. the world works well only when things keep moving. Currently the internet is the way we can keep pushing ahead and help each other. When you buy my book I then have resources - financial or confidence - to pass that on. I call it PLUG OR BUY ...or do both if you can of course. Two lovely people bought my book last night - THANK YOU! Today I choose to PLUG and I'm going to plug two things I have bought recently in the hope you might check them out and PLUG OR BUY. BOOK: A self published book by Peter Solness. He is an incredible photographer who paints with light. He has created a unique style and is a truly incredible talent. We had an event planned at Head On Photo Festival to set up a Photo Book Fair where ours and other photographers book would be for sale. Sadly now cancelled. BUT you can purchase his book, or print, or sign up for a workshop via his website: https://www.illuminated-landscape.com/products/ Light up your world with the work of Peter Solness. MUSIC: Genni Kane has a voice like an angel and tells stories as good as Paul Kelly. She will make you smile, cry and sing along with her self made CD'S. I met Genni Kane back in the day when she was in The Flying Emus. [Yes she appears in by own book too.] If you like your music with a touch of folk, a brush of country and a lot of amazing music by some of the best musicians in the business with her you will be delighted with any of her CD's. Head to her website and make your selection, or hell, buy a copy of all her records. http://gennikane.com.au/shop/ https://www.facebook.com/gennikanemusician/ Please PLUG OR BUY and keep us all moving in these uncertain times Cheers! Wendy My book is available at: www.wendymcdougall.com.au Purchase the $66 book and you will get the goodies from the $85 deal.

03.01.2022 If I was in Sydney tonight I would most certainly be heading out to Fred Smith’s album launch in Leichhardt. Fred has such an amazing talent for words and is a master songwriter. The beautiful @Liz Frencham will also be playing and this may be one of your last chances to catch Liz live. So...go, just go

02.01.2022 Just in case you're interested. I have updated my website and created a YouTube Channel! I currently have absolutely no subscribers so if you feel so inclined perhaps you could subscribe! I have absolutely no idea what this entails but...why not?! I've included live videos of my songs plus some playlists with historical Flying Emus clips and some lovely things that I have done with other people. ... I do believe that this link will take you there. Hopefully

02.01.2022 OK good people...it’s time to get serious! If you’re thinking of coming along to my one and only Central West concert on Saturday December 5 in Orange then you need to get cracking! Not only will you hear my original songs with my full band of favourite men, you will also get to see the fabulous John Kane and Andy Gordon perfom their fabulous songs of life and love and...potholes! Tickets are a bargain at $30! Gladys has allowed us to release some more seats...now we just ne...ed your bums to fill them. Let’s celebrate the end of a tough year by enjoying a great night of music together. What are you waiting for? https://jamorange.com.au//genni-kane-band-andy-gordon-jo/
