21.01.2022 Hi everyone, Per the Australian Dental Association’s guidelines, members have been advised to reduce patient care to that of emergency dental treatment and urgent dental treatment, following the country’s nationwide response to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure our heroic frontline health workers and health system do not face supply shortages. This is incredibly important and we here at Gentle Endodontics take this matter seriously and will remain steadfast in fulfi...lling our obligations in ensuring the safety of the community, as well as fulfilling our professional duty to treat urgent and emergency dental conditions. We are here to support you during this difficult time and will continue to provide emergency and urgent Endodontic care to your patients. This includes: Uncontrolled bleeding Facial swelling Facial trauma Acute pain Localised infection Tooth fractures involving the pulp Significant dental trauma Necessary pre-surgical dental treatment Symptomatic conditions that would otherwise be an emergency if left untreated For the full list and more details of what does and does not constitute emergency and urgent care please refer to the document below. 20.01.2022 Hi everyone, Following the Government’s directive, we are moving to Level 2 restrictions from 26 April 2020. This means we will be able to treat patients beyond emergency cases. We remain committed to the highest safety practices and our obligation as healthcare professionals to treat patients who fall within the Australian Dental Association’s guidelines for COVID-19. The easing of restrictions follows ADA’s most recent assessments, which continue to be the subject of ongoin...g review based on risk of transmission and the needs of the wider community. IMPORTANT In all restrictions, urgent dental treatment for people who have been identified as either at moderate to high risk of COVID-19 or confirmed as a COVID-19 case should be provided under transmission based precautions using appropriate PPE as per ADA Managing COVID-19 Guidelines. Services that can be performed under Level 2 restrictions include: Provision of dental treatments that are unlikely to generate aerosols or where aerosols generated have the presence of minimal saliva/blood due to the use of rubber dam. This includes: Examinations Simple non-invasive fillings without use of high-speed handpieces Restorative procedures using high speed handpieces only provided with the use of rubber dam Non-surgical extractions Hand scaling (no use of ultrasonic scalers) Medical management of soft tissue presentations (such as ulcers) Temporomandibular dysfunction management Denture procedures Preventative procedures such as the application of topical remineralising agents e.g. fluoride - Orthodontic treatment Services that must be deferred under Level 2 restrictions include: Defer all treatments that are likely to generate aerosols which may include the use of: High-speed handpieces without the use of rubber dam Ultrasonic scalers Surgical handpieces All surgical extractions should be referred to specialist oral surgeons/oral and maxillofacial surgeons who will undertake these procedures using transmission based precautions. Elective implant dental treatment should be delayed. Urgent dental treatment for people who DO meet epidemiological or clinical symptom criteria for COVID-19 risk or confirmed as a COVID-19 case, provided as per ADA Managing COVID-19 Guidelines. This was probably my last year running this program and I know I will miss it very much. Who knows I might be back one day but love teaching and love those keen DMD students. 05.01.2022 Our very own Dr Mehdi Rahimi Endodontist out of the practice in the middle of the week filming a lecture for the ADA, which seems to be the new normal now. The lecture includes describing the use of required personal protective equipment under COVID-19 conditions and adhering to ADA recommendations to practice safely. He also delves into the type of ‘true’ dental emergencies we might be seeing at this time and explore immediate trauma management. This will be given as a recording to the ADA NSW divisions and study groups with a live Q&A session to follow. He says it's a pleasure to be a part of ongoing learning and education, considering the current circumstances- with the ADA media library starting to shape up beautifully.

This chair is in excellent condition and also has an inbuilt Satelac P5 newtron Ultrasonic system worth over $2500. We moved surgeries and decided not to set up a new surgery so we no longer need it.
