25.01.2022 WE ARE BACK The Prime Minister has made the announcement that gives dental practices the ability to attend to the needs of a broader range of patients, not just emergencies. Dental service restrictions to 'Level 2', as from Monday 27th of April 2020. We are still working under restriction with procedures that generate aerosols, however we can start seeing you next week for examinations, some fillings, and simple extractions, dentures and orthodontic treatment. ... We practice high standard of infection control to ensure our patients are in safe hands. Temperatures will be checked on arrival, COVID-19 Questionnaires to be answered and Sanitiser station set up around the surgery. All staff will be wearing PPE. Under level 2 restrictions, dental treatments are permissible that are unlikely to generate aerosols or where aerosols generated have the presence of minimal saliva/blood due to the use of rubber dam. This includes: -Examinations -Simple non-invasive fillings without the use of high-speed handpieces -Restorative procedures using high-speed handpieces only provided with the use of rubber dam -Non-surgical extractions -Hand scaling (no use of ultrasonic scalers) -Medical management of soft tissue presentations (such as ulcers) -Temporomandibular dysfunction management -Denture procedures -Preventative procedures such as the application of topical remineralising agents e.g. fluoride -Orthodontic treatment Under these restrictions, it is essential that the safety of patients, practice staff, dental professionals and the wider community remains of paramount importance. The announcement that gives dentists the ability to perform all dental treatments using standard precautions for people who do not meet epidemiological or clinical risks for COVID-19.... Level 1 restrictions will take effect once the Dental Board of Australia communicates this advice to registrants having seen official correspondence from the Chief Medical Officer.
