21.01.2022 Honey fermented garlic!! When trying to find different ways to preserve excess garlic I stumbled upon the ancient recipe for preservation. After a month or so, the honey turns runny and starts to be infused with the flavour and benefits of garlic. The garlic deepens in colour but is milder in flavour, losing more of its bite the longer it ferments. My partner and I both had a few cloves here and there throughout the winter months when we started to feel like we were getti...ng a cold to and give us a little immune boost. But now the warm weather is slowly coming back I think I’m going to start using it as a glaze on bbq meats or make sweet garlicky sauce or marinade. 14.01.2022 BALLS Leca balls to be exact This is my first indoor plant to be transferred from soil to LECA (and into this gorgeous new pot too) Leca is an acronym and it stands for: Lightweight expanded clay aggregate. I wanted to use it because it means no more soil, which means less pests and less mess! The plant doesn’t sit in too wet soil, it drinks when it wants to. ... Of course it’s a little harder on the set up, you need the inside pot with holes/airflow. Then you need an external leakproof pot that you can keep an inch or so of water in the bottom. Leca has no nutrients so you add a indoor liquid fertiliser to the water when refilling!
