20.01.2022 Upcycled Bottle Cap Micro Geocache (Pack of 10) A sneaky upcycled bottle cap geocache container. Simply place and stand back to watch your fellow geocachers just walk on by it as they also certainly aren't going to be expecting a geocache to be hidden as a bottlecap. Each upcycled bottle cap micro is two recycled lids and one recycled bottle screw top where the bottom lid is friction pressed onto the screw top and glued to keep it in water resistant with another screw cap scr...ewed on top. The finder simply unscrews the top cap to access the rolled log sheet. Note: Colors, styles and sizes will be packed randomly and you will not be guaranteed to get any specific color, style or size although they should all be roughly equal in volume. This container comes complete with a log sheet with enough space to hold many dozens of geocache logs. https://geocaching.com.au/shop/index.php

20.01.2022 POLYRESIN ROCK MICRO CACHE X 5 (BISON CACHE AND LOG SCROLL INCLUDED) A micro geocache that looks just like, well -- a rock, offered at a rock-bottom price. Ha, I crack me up. https://geocaching.com.au/shop/index.php... There are 5 Polyresin Rock Micro Caches in this offer and each one comes with a black bison cache and log scroll. That's a better offer than just a rock by itself and means you save on postage by getting all of the items in one delivery. An igneous (that's a rock joke my friends) way to hide your geocache in plain sight. Molded poly-resin matches real rock in size, shape, texture, color and weight. Weatherproof and windproof as well meaning your rock will stand up to the elements regardless of how exposed it is. A hidden tray underneath holds a micro geocache container up to about 50mm length x 25mm. Measurements are approximate and may vary slightly for each individual rock. Please note the photo is representative of the rock shape. The rock comes with a bison geocache and log scroll meaning you can simply put the two together and hide it immediately. No more trying to find a plactic bag or other container to hide along with tht erock, this deal offers it all. This rock geocache goes undercover among shrubs, grass or landscape rocks and wood chips. External measurements approximately 100mm x 50mm 35mm.

19.01.2022 Here's a little calendar of things that are coming up through to July. We hope that the new and exciting content here at Geocaching Australia entices you to continue to play the game of geocaching at Geocaching Australia. As we have a very small volunteer development team here at Geocaching Australia this means some things get done quickly and others are put on the backburner. It also means we rarely have time to give you a heads-up on what may be coming as things we build ar...e rarely planned too far in advance, but we have a full 6 months coming and a further plan through to the end of the year which we will reveal soon. January - GeoArt competition closes. To celebrate the launch of the new GeoArt geocache type, everyone who hides and publishes a collection of 10 or more GeoArt geocaches in a single collection during the competition will be entered into a draw to win a new, limited edition GeoArt geocache pathtag. There are a limited number of pathtags which have been minted so there are a limited number of pathtags available to win. February - New virtual collector cards. Cards are virtual items that as you collect them they boost the rate at which you earn points. They range from common and uncommon through rare to elite and legendary. Cards are rewarded randomly based on their scarcity with elite and legendary cards being rewarded far less frequently that common, uncommon or rare cards. You cannot trade for individual cards, only for packs of 10 which may result in you receiving duplicates. March - New rank shields on your My dragonZone page. - Anniversary Orbs - Autumn Equinox Orbs - 3x3 Well Rounded Cacher research quest starts (no time limit) April - Blitz 2021 - New "Online" version of the Reverse Geocache where you use your mobile phone and the Geocaching Australia website to be guided to a specified or target location. This is different to using a GPS as the only information you receive is how far you are from the geocache with no indication of direction. At the location a codeword is presented and a final location of the geocache is revealed (if the geocache is not at the location). You use the codeword to unlock the geocache using a device such as a combination lock and you are able to access and sign the logbook. - Easter Orbs May - New stickers and additional collector cards based on stickers and rank shields. - Gotta Find 'Em All research quest starts (no time limit) June - Winter Solstice Orbs - A mid-year game that has two winning strategies by finding geocaches with the bonus of some strategic game playing from you. There will, of course, be pathtags rewarded as prizes. July - Continuation of the June mid-year game.

18.01.2022 If you are a dragonZone member at Geocaching Australia there is something exciting on your dragonZone Trophies page. https://geocaching.com.au/my/dragonzonetrophies/ Each trophy will now interactively display (click to reanimate) a progress bar of how you are tracking to any particular trophy. If you hover over the progress bar you can also see what percentage you are complete.... This gives you the opportunity to check which trophies you are close the gaining and allows you to focus your energies on completing them and adding them to your completed list. When you first visit the page you may need to FORCE REFRESH (Ctrl-F5) to get the latest styles and images. We hope this will help you on your way to gaining more and more and MOAR trophies.

16.01.2022 Geocachers Take The Road Less Travelled Pathtag https://geocaching.com.au/shop/index.php A silver pathtag that describes the experience of all geocachers who seek to enjoy the game we play. Geocaches will always take the road less travelled, mainly because we ignore the main roads and use the byways to travel directly to the geocache on the less travelled road, only to find the well travelled road probably runs next to the geocache anyway.... A limited run of 165, less spoils to the designer means once this run of pathtags is gone, they are gone forever. Rush and get yours now! Geocaching Australia is a free site run by volunteers and is not affiliated with any other web site. From the geocache description: A series of geocaches that, when viewed on the Geocaching Australia map, outline the Commonwealth Star. The Commonwealth Star (also known as the Federation Star, the Seven Point Star, or the Star of Federation) is a seven-pointed star symbolising the Federation of Australia which came into force on 1 January 1901. Six points of the Star represent the six original states of the Commonwealth of Australia, while the seventh point represents the territories and any other future states of Australia. The original star had only six points; however, the proclamation in 1905 of the Territory of Papua led to the addition of the seventh point in 1909 to represent it and future territories. The Commonwealth Star is one of the distinguishing characteristics of the Australian flag. Read more about GeoArt here: http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/GeoArt
