21.01.2022 Seasons Greetings All, A sunflower is a beautiful thing that is frequently photographed. However the flower itself is not the only captivating thing. The rear of the flower is seldom displayed . The shapes and textures to me are equally as attractive. Enjoy... I hope 2020 is a great one for you all and is filled with many images for me to share. 20.01.2022 Greetings photo fans Our honey bees swarmed a couple of weeks ago and landed on our bird feeder . when they swarm they are very docile so I was able to get up close with my macro. They are stunningly awesome creatures. Enjoy
20.01.2022 Good Morning, I took a day trip on the back roads between Gympie and Noosa exploring new territory for images. Although I didn't come back with any images for my portfolio I enjoyed myself immensely. Sometimes its about the journey and the story that is behind images. I found this magical rainforest walk . To be in this was inspiring and peaceful. Was worth the trip just to spend time here.... I took a few images for myself and memories of this place. I would like to share them with you . 18.01.2022 Good Morning. I , like all Australians were devastated and shocked with the bushfires this summer. The loss of human life,animal life and great forests. And with the total lack of action by our miserable politicians on climate change. Queensland too suffered. Woodgate is a seaside community 100kms from my home in Hervey Bay. It burned in December. We were in smoke for a time.... I visited the area yesterday and took some images. So surreal walking in that devastation.No birds, no insects. A black and white landscape with the occasional burst of green life. A very emotional time. The first image in a series is "Creek,Woodgate Fire Zone Feb 2020" This series is not your warm, fuzzy landscapes. Its the landscape of our time. Hope you enjoy Geoffrey

17.01.2022 Good Day to you all. "Dam Illusion" On the same road trip that produced "Decay" I visited a dam that supplies Hervey Bay with its water. The lines, shapes and the mirroring grabbed me. 15.01.2022 Goo Morning All, Yesterday I was in our garden doing some macro flower photography. I was focused on a grevillea when I was blessed by a honey bee landing right in front of my lens. I was torn between watching this amazing creature close up and getting an image . Thankfully I managed both. View these BIG to be blown away by their beauty.... Cheers Geoffrey

"Creek, Woodgate ,Feb 2020 , 2 & 3" While I was taking these images I looked down at my feet to see baby frogs and tadpoles in a small pool of clear water. Made me smile. Nature is amazing.... 09.01.2022 Good Morning, Its been difficult with the COVID restrictions getting out and about for images. However being at home and in our garden it has inspired me to concentrate on macro photography. We are blessed to have , amongst many other things, a Batflower plant , which as well as being an amazing plant , it is also an extremely interesting photography subject. Such form, textures and colours. I have spent the last few weeks following the flowering process. So I hope to have ...a series of images over the next few weeks. 08.01.2022 Good Morning , A continuation of the bushfire series. The amazing response nature has to fire was part of my experience in that scorched landscape. Some plants rely on high intensity fires to release their seed. Banksias are an example Exploded pods and cones surrounded me . Making for some cool images. "Seedburst, Woodgate Fire Zone" is one that grabbed me.... I hope you enjoy.

06.01.2022 Late at night I was thinking about my recent sunflower image. I wasn't that happy with the final image. An image came into my head. A different approach. Early the next morning I began to work on this image. And shortly thereafter , Voila. The image in my head was on the screen. Great when it works like that. 06.01.2022 Greetings, "Decay" is a new image. One of my favourite themes. You might have guessed? The almost infrared effect adds to the feel of the image. Partly due to the harsh lighting and some tweaking.... The sight of an Australian flag in our current social climate often conjures up the negative aspect of our society. 02.01.2022 Good Morning, The last two images from the bushfire series. First, "Firescape" A stark record of the destruction this fire. If you look closely at the burnt ground in the foreground the darkened outline to me looks like a person running away. Humour me . The second "Love & Support", is another abstract/composite of the burnt out creek.... Hope you enjoy & share. See more
