22.01.2022 Love this Customer Satisfaction Survey from a very special client... This settlement was so trying but my client was so awesome in the whole situation and should also be thanked. A massive thank you to DownSouth Holiday Homes as well that was able to accommodate my client whilst they were homeless for a couple of weeks till we could settle this property.

20.01.2022 What a glorious day, today. Today I got to meet some clients from out of town whilst their children entertained themselves at the park at the Busselton foreshore. Friday I met another couple at the Capel Park from out of town and did the same thing. Both clients signed their documents and where ID'd whilst their kids played in he park. Happy parents and childen, win win situation

19.01.2022 Wow what a busy few weeks we have all had... Working, settling properties and getting use to the kids being at home and their home schooling... Thank goodness for MacKillop Catholic College and their teachers that have done a great job teaching our kids at home on their computers... As you can see my kids are enjoying not being on a bus at 7.30 am, not brushing their hair by the looks and still in their PJs whilst all being a school To all the families and kids out there have a wonderful safe Easter holidays Nicole Cochrane

19.01.2022 Hi All, What another crazy time again.... As everyone knows this week we will experience a 5 day shut down. We have just been given the green light from the AICWA that Landgate will remain open so the good news is we will still be able to settle properties this week. You will however need to seek clarification in from your Real Estate Agent if you require to complete your final inspection.... Geographe Settlement has always worked from home but for this week we can't see all our wonderful clients face to face so we will arrange for all our local clients for documents to be dropped off and picked up from their letterbox. If outside the Busselton or Capel post code we will email or express post documents to clients. In regards to Verification of Identity we will be offering a Safe App which was put in process last time we had a shut down where clients can ID themselves at home instead of attending Australia Post so clients do not need to leave home. At this early stage we are unsure if people will be able to move if they have booked Furniture Removalist etc etc but are asking clients to seek their own advise in regards to this matter as every business works differently. 11.01.2022 NEWS JUST IN FROM AICWA... Travel Restrictions for people moving.... Travel Restrictions - NEW UPDATE Further to AICWA's earlier update, we have been advised that anyone wishing to travel across regions must send any requests for travel exemptions to [email protected]... Travel Restrictions Update For Clients Who Are Relocating Across Regions The AICWA has been advised by the Commissioner for Consumer Protection that the Police Superintendent responsible for the regional travel restrictions initiative has granted a general exemption for home buyers/sellers who wish to relocate as they are travelling home albeit a new home. In order to further strengthen against any doubt as to why a buyer/seller is relocating the AICWA recommends you advise clients to retain a signed copy of the Contract of Sale (O&A). A situation where this may be useful is where the client is traveling separately to their belongings and may be required to substantiate their travel.

05.01.2022 Settlements in Lockdown Looking to move in or out of your home this week? Think again! The hard lockdown is likely to affect many aspects of the settlement pro...cess, and while financial settlement and lodgement for the transfer of property may be doable the likelihood is that sellers and buyers will be unable to move. Leaving your residence other than for essential and permissible reasons within the Perth, Peel and South West Region is prohibited. If the seller resides in the property and settlement is scheduled for the lockdown period and parties in their contract have adopted REIWA’s COVID-19 Annexure (form 194) then the parties have already agreed to time extensions for their settlement. If the seller resides in the property and settlement is scheduled for the lockdown period and the parties in their contract have not provided for any COVID-19 occurrences, then it would have to be assumed that the seller would have to remain in lockdown in the property and the parties will have to negotiate an outcome. If the property is leased, then it is assumed that the tenant in lockdown would not be able to vacant the premises and the parties will have to negotiate an outcome. If the property is vacant, then it would be assumed that the settlement would proceed, and the buyer could enter the property when the lockdown terminates. See more
