23.01.2022 was too busy over the weekend with gigs & travel to post this, but last saturday was the 15th anniversary of the passing of the great peter wells, co-founder of... aussie rock legends, rose tattoo. I'd been privileged to have been his friend, bandmate, and surrogate little brother for over twenty years. not much time passes when I don't think of him. he taught me a lot, and I strive to achieve "WWPD" - what would pete do? 21.01.2022 Day 4 sad but true, we still have no Biggie I’m not going to lie, my hope is fadingand with every sunset my heart hurts knowing that our boy is still in the ...hands of a complete stranger, and everyday without you is a day closer to maybe never finding you What is breaking our hearts more then anything is the unknown. Is he warm? Is he sad? Is he happy? Is he wondering why we aren’t with him? Why can’t he hear Tia singing? Why is his dad not chasing him down the hill? Why are my sisters not yelling at me? Where are his brothers? As I drive home from Beenleigh searching for you our boy along with an army of supporters, your sisters are all in tearsThis gives me an overwhelming feeling of anger and I truly wonder how someone could do something so cruel, to you and to us With all of that being said I know tomorrow is a new dawn, it’s a new day and we will keep fighting, we will keep searching, even if it takes our last dollar to find you You have so many new friends Biggie and so many people cheering you on and waiting for your grand arrival home So come on my Biggie boy, it’s time to come home now To everyone that is supporting, our words will NEVER be enough to say how grateful we are so please keep helping us, keep sharing and fighting because without you all we have no hope These little shits can’t keep going around taking peoples pets and getting away with it. Our babies have no voices so let’s be that for all our fur babies #bringbiggiehome

17.01.2022 Jeff Apter is an Australian success story. Since 2005 he has been the author of around 25 biography books. Some are about sportsmen but the greater majority are... about rock heroes John Farnham, Bon Scott’s AC/DC, Marc Hunter, Finn Brothers, Bee Gees, Jeff Buckley, Silverchair, The Cure, Angus Young, Red Hot Chlii Peppers, Malcolm Young, Johnny O’Keefe, Kasey Chambers, Keith Urban, Gwen Stefani & No Doubt, Graeme ‘Shirley’ Strachan, Dave Grohl, Daniel Johns, and Australian Rock in general. Not flash or controversial and relatively brief (as biographies go) Jeff’s books are well researched and well chosen. And when he is on a good thing he sticks to it. This is the third Young sibling that he has taken on and for me, given that I have known them all, the most compelling. I came of age with the Easybeats hitting me between the eyes. It was 1965 and life would never be the same. That I came to know him as a friend, that this very private man came to trust me to chronicle his past and rave about his present, that he (and the dear Harry) would take a band I managed into the studio to produce a single was things I treasure. I have written extensive album notes and on the reunion tour of 1986 I had the very great privilege of introducing the Easybeats on stage. I have relied on Jeff’s book to remind me about things I had forgotten and about things I knew about in legend but had not witnessed. It quotes me in a number of places and I’m pleased to be there. I’m not sure about the commercial appeal of a story about a songwriter and producer even when that man is up there with John Lennon, Pete Townshend and Ray Davies. One hopes that the Acca Dacca community will take this to heart and reward Apter’s tome with the sales it merits. This is the story of not only the Easybeats but Stevie Wright, AC/DC, William Shakespeare, The Angels, Rose Tattoo, TMG, John Paul Young & the All Stars, Flash & the Pan, Cheetah and a whole lot more. Jeff had a lot of ground to cover but as the old radio star Jack Davey put it, he has bitten off more than he could chew and chewed like buggery. It has nothing to do with this book but last night I caught a gala Musicares concert dedicated to Bruce Springsteen. It reminded me of the time I caught the Boss and his E Street Band when he opened his Sydney show with Vanda & Young’s Friday On My Mind, It reminded me how very many times I have heard George’s songs in powerful hands, rendered by David Bowie, Grace Jones, Rod Stewart, Gary Moore, Peter Frampton, Savoy Brown, Suzi Quatro, the Shadows, Marmalade, Shocking Blue, INXS & Jimmy Barnes, Swanee, Johnny Young, JPY, Allison MacCallum, Seekers, Cissy Houston and scores more. One of the greatest rock songwriters who ever lived. #georgeyoung #vandaandyoung #ac/dc #jeffapter

12.01.2022 Almost 6 months ago we watched our full and busy work calendar empty out as the world ground to a halt in an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus, since the...n there has been no offer of assistance. Since then, the UK Government has slowly lifted restrictions to allow businesses to reopen, and the 'new normal' has seen doors reopened for many. This is not the case for the world of events. Instead we're now just as closed as every business was in the height of lockdown.... There is no date or working plan for restarting the event industry from the government and no solutions being tabled to outline a plan to help the business as a whole survive. And the stark reality now is that most of the event industry just won't be here without extended support from the government, with COVID-19 financial support schemes starting to wind down because most businesses are now trading again. Venues are now closing their doors forever. Companies are already laying off staff, and freelancers have no idea when they might next see some income. The UK has one of the most professional and admired events talent pool in the world, working for and with the most respected suppliers worldwide within the industry ... Without action now, we'll see not only people and suppliers gone forever, but also lose some amazing events along the way. It's already happening - this simply cannot wait any longer. #letthemusicplay #wemakeevents #makesomenoise #eventprofs @rishisunakmp #liveproduction
