08.01.2022 We are so happy to share this exciting news. Minister Sarah Courtney was in George Town this morning to announce that the Tasmanian government has committed to ...funding three exciting Future Impact Group initiatives for the George Town municipality. The Launchpad: a central community space in the old RSL building, equipped and staffed specifically to support a socially inclusive environment and targeted skills development. The Launchpad will stimulate learning, innovation and business co-production. Renew George Town: an urban renewal model to revitalise the main street of George Town by utilising empty buildings on the main street as temporary homes to pop up shops, creative projects, community groups, incubator hubs and start-ups at little cost. Digital Warriors: a community-run digital literacy support program to digitally connect and enable our community to learn and participate in regionally designed opportunities. We thank the community for the role in developing these projects, and we look forward to continuing to work with community, business, government and service providers. This development has been made possible by the foresight and commitment of George Town Council, in their purchase of the old RSL building and it's return to community. The Future Impact Group acknowledges the support of the Beacon Foundation. Sarah Courtney MP George Town Council
