03.01.2022 Chatting to my Uber driver during my recent Melbourne trip about buying a home reminded me about how hard it is to save that deposit. Even though the First Home Loan Deposit Schemes are close to exhaustion (5% deposit) the property thresholds can be too low for the area. I don't feel it keeps pace with the true value of property. We still have lenders who accept 5% deposit for those who are not first home owners or if you are trying to buy a property higher than the FHLDS... thresholds.
