12.01.2022 Tech Tip Tuesday! Today is quick post about another unused key on your keyboard, the "Scroll Lock" key. The "Scroll Lock" key is a bit of a legacy key from before computers had the graphical interfaces that they have today. It was used originally to scroll the screen using the arrow keys instead of just moving the cursor. Today this key is commonly used as an extra key for enabling keyboard shortcuts, as a macro key, and/or rebound for additional functionality, with maybe one... somewhat common exception. Excel still uses this key, as originally intended, although I cant think of another program that does. Try it out for yourself next time you use Excel, press scroll lock and scroll the screen with your keyboard instead! Thanks for reading and see you next week!
