24.01.2022 Official word from Massage & Myotherapy Australia & advice from Qld Health says Massage Therapists can open again with some restrictions. I will slowly begin massaging again to help my existing clients with injury prevention/chronic pain or health issues, NOT for general relaxation purposes. As you all know I am a Remedial Massage Therapist with 20 years experience and it is my job to help people with chronic conditions and injury prevention. ... I am not taking any new clients at present and will be recommencing with existing clients, in a reduced, limited and controlled manner. I will be limiting my appointments to ensure I can maintain maximum hygiene & infection control. I will not be taking on any new clients at this time. The same rules apply as they did before the mandated social isolation - DO NOT book an appointment if you have been unwell, travelled overseas or should be quarantined or in social isolation. Thank you for your patience at this time. Stay safe, I look forward to seeing you soon. Georgia

23.01.2022 Its really funny FB constantly send me things encouraging me to post stuff on my Massage Page. Im not interested in bombarding people with hype about massage or what I do. My 20 years of massage service speak from themselves and the fact that most of my clients have been part of my world for over a decade and a half. Massage can be life changing especially when youre in great pain or unable to move properly, you get off the table and the pain has gone and you can move without pain. Thats what makes me LOVE what I do everyday

22.01.2022 I was out walking and I happened to meet a young woman whose life possessions were in a shopping trolley. In our hot and humid weather imagine not having access to a shower or to be able to wash clothes. Orange Sky Laundry make that possible for those in need.

19.01.2022 COVID - 19 Heres some information on virus thats being given to UQ students How long can the virus live on surfaces and what is the most effective way to decontaminate them? It is not certain how long the virus that causes COVID-19 survives on surfaces. Studies suggest that coronaviruses (including preliminary information on the COVID-19 virus) may persist on surfaces for a few hours or up to several days. This may vary under different conditions, including the type of sur...face, temperature and humidity. If you think a surface may be infected, clean it with simple disinfectant to kill the virus and protect yourself and others. Clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, mouth, or nose. The best way to decontaminate general (hard) work surfaces is with an alcohol based liquid or alcohol based wet wipe. Sprays and wipes that contain more than 70% ethanol, isopropanol or 2-propanol all work equally well and are effective within one minute. Other options to efficiently decontaminate hard surfaces include: 0.5% hydrogen peroxide, 0.1% bleach or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite. Other sprays such as Glen20 are not effective in this instance. Also face masks dont stop it but they help you stop touching your nose and mouth which is helpful when avoiding transmission.

18.01.2022 I've recently begun treating a new patient with Fibromyalgia. This is the third patient I've worked with over the last few years who have this debilitating condition. Massage that is delivered with appropriate pressure and sensitivity can help relieve the terrible pain of this awful disease. https://www.amtamassage.org//massage-fibromyalgia-the-righ

18.01.2022 The power of positive, appropriate touch is profound. https://www.heysigmund.com/the-remarkable-power-of-touch/

16.01.2022 Ive increased the disinfecting regime Now when Im massaging only fresh unused sheets and towels are in the massage bag all used towels etc are separated and put in a bag to be washed with an antibacterial solution. The table itself is wiped done pre and post massage with antibacterial and mild bleach solution. All increased steps to keep myself and my clients safe.

16.01.2022 Why massage? After 20 years of massaging I'm still in love with what I do. Why? When a person is on the massage table they are placing a huge amount of trust in me. I've learnt that each person has their own body landscape which has areas of tension, soreness and various issues and that change from day to day, week to week. ... Also how a person is feeling emotionally impacts on their pain threshold, determining what hurts and what needs extra care and sensitivity. Massage is an exploration of these areas. Using enough pressure to make a difference to allow the muscles to release but not so much that the body goes into protection mode. Sometimes this process becomes a little like a dance, applying pressure, moving away and coming back to assist the body to let go layer by layer. What is most satisfying is seeing how different a person feels and moves after a massage. It's why I like to be mobile. The idea of a person having to get in a car and drive straight after a massage doesn't make sense to me. I want people to be able to stay with the post massage feeling for as long as possible.

13.01.2022 If you cant find a face mask why not make one https://youtu.be/eLOh8AoXvcI

11.01.2022 Sunshine Beach for some replenishment, internal battery recharging and some ease full humour recalibration. Im having a break until the 17th February. I have the plant watering house carer in place and its relax and unwind time. Based on previous holidays with the lovely Nigel it should now rain 80% of the time while we are away.

10.01.2022 The science of massaging is so interesting. I'm not sure if I would have been willing to have my muscles biopsied to show the positive impacts of massage. https://well.blogs.nytimes.com//how-massage-heals-sore-mu/

02.01.2022 https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au//conditionsand/massage I had a new massage client yesterday who was thinking she may need a hip replacement after years of putting up with pain. I mentioned that if the problem was muscular then the pain would be significantly decreased or gone when the massage was completed. If the pain was still there then the hip issue would require further investigation. To her amazement she could walk without pain and felt a huge shift to how she was walking when she got off the massage table. I love LOvE LoVe what I do.
