21.01.2022 Hello, during our break yesterday we were sitting in our tea room chatting about our professional hair products v supermarket or online products. This chat led... me to the Question.!! Why buy products from the salon? Oh, let me count the ways..! First and foremost, it’s in the ingredients. Salon products use highly concentrated, high-quality ingredients that nourish and hydrate your hair. I’ll agree, when looking at the ingredients on the back of your shampoo, you’ll see that there’s not a huge difference between the salon and supermarket product... a simple analogy to explain this is to equate shampoos to cooking oils... The salon products are the extra virgin olive oil, the unprocessed batch, the best of the best, whilst the supermarket products are comparable to your vegetable or canola oil, the lower quality processed version. It’s still oil, it’s just lower quality. Yes, salon products cost more, but you need to use less product. How many of you actually use a 20 cent sized amount.?? Chances are you fill your palm with shampoo and lather up. However, with highly concentrated products you really only need that 20 cent sized amount, therefore a bottle of salon shampoo lasts months whilst a supermarket shampoo barely lasted one month. When was the last time you asked a supermarket worker what is the best shampoo to hydrate your hair or maintain your new colour.?? Do you know the difference between Salon and Supermarket products.?? If not, read on. We are regularly asked about the differences between salon and supermarket shampoos in the salon so I wrote a short (ish ) blog post to explain the differences. Salon Products : * Are more concentrated so you use less bottle lasts longer. * Contain very little to no sulphates at all which is better for your hair. Sulphates are what make the shampoo lather to give the impression the hair is clean when it is not. * Help maintain colour and prevent cosmetic colour from fading. * Are UV protective. * Help with thermal repair of the hair from over styling. * You only need to wash your hair 1- 2 times a week. * Contains essential ingredients such as vitamins, oils and minerals for repairing the hair from the outside in. * Are created with performance being number one priority and a wide range of different types of products are designed in order to suit every hair type and texture, and to tend to the needs of every hair type. Supermarket Products : * Supermarket shampoos are diluted which means more water, more sulphates and fillers with fewer vitamins, oils and minerals * Leave a residue ( silicons ) on the hair which can make the scalp oily and feel unclean soon after washing. * Can prevent colour from ‘taking’ in the salon and can also prevent colour from lasting. * Are generally detergent based which means they lather up and give the impression that they are cleaning the hair when really they are cleaning the hair from the outside in giving the impression the hair is properly washed when really it is not. * Even though they may be cheaper than salon products you use more in order to create a lather in the hair while you also need to wash your hair more regularly, therefore resulting in you needing to buy them more frequently.. this will strip your recent colour in your hair resulting in you having to visit the salon more often overall resulting in you spending more money in the long run. Ps. Be careful when tempted to restock online, you're at risk of buying counterfeit products instead of the genuine product, eg, Redken ect on the shelves at supermarkets or some chemists..Hair product companies ONLY sell to professional hair salons. 16.01.2022 DIY hair kits! Happy easter guys! I am missing you all SO much As a few people already know, I’ve thought about doing home hair kits while Rona is still hanging around. This is available for clients who need their greys/roots covered or an all over colour. I’ll be posting a ‘how to apply your colour’ video on Facebook and Instagram.... Unfortunately for my blondes, this isn’t an option for you as bleach and toners can be unpredictable when applying yourself BUT I am still selling retail. So I have a couple of blonde shampoos/conditioners and foam toners arriving within the next week. These will keep your hair looking fresh but you’ll just have a little regrowth. So if it’s colour or retail you need, hit me up! Free delivery within toowoomba and a small fee if you live out of town. Free postage over $100 for retail products for clients who don’t live locally. 14.01.2022 OPEN FOR BUSINESS After much thought, I have decided to re open on Tuesday the 5th of May. With all the restrictions and changes earlier in March, I thought for sure that salons would have to close due to COVID-19. I think it was the right decision to close for a little while but with restrictions lifting, I feel comfortable re opening. ... I will only be doing 1 client at a time so appointments will be more limited than usual. For clients who don’t feel comfortable coming in to the salon, hair kits are still available. Can’t wait to see you all soon! XX

11.01.2022 That’s me done for now! I would like to thank all my beautiful clients and friends for your support over this very scary, uncertain time. All the chats, the messages of support, checking in and most importantly all the wine I’ve received. Am I making the right decision? I think so? Hard times ahead but we are all in this together. ... As of today I will be closing indefinitely. Retail will still be available for purchase, just send me a text message to order.
