25.01.2022 An ice fountain art installation on the roof. Tragically, I instantly thought of an ice luge. Then I went inside, unpacked the dishwasher, fed the dogs and had a cup of tea. I’m not up to a spontaneous challenge any more
24.01.2022 Adored this memoir. Funny, honest and a tribute to female friendship. I spent some of my 20s in London but felt like I had barely lived after reading about Dolly’s life. (Her reflections on being tall were another gold star - but there is more than enough to amuse even petite readers.) @dollyalderton #everythingIknowaboutlove
19.01.2022 As I work from home in my ugg boots, growing in my grey roots like St Nicola Spurrier and wearing my worst mum jeans it is oddly cheering to see that in some way at least, I am trending. Thank you book lovers.
19.01.2022 A lovely update from Bad Apple Press including my Covid Diary from the start of the pandemic. It’s not Pepys but it is (I hope) a short funny read
17.01.2022 The photo profile my darling children have chosen for me on Disney + Thank you so much sweethearts - I wish my nails were that good
16.01.2022 Harry Hartog Burnside Village have hand sanitiser plus lots of lovely books. I was so thrilled to see the display featuring local authors . It cheered up the first week of term 3. Until this moment- the highlight had been getting lost in the South Parklands trying to find my way back to the car after my daughter’s soccer match. Thankyou Harry Hartog - I love you too.
14.01.2022 Just by the Malls Balls today (Adelaide content alert) I went into the wonderful Aladdin’s Cave that is Dymocks Rundle Mall and saw this lovely sign. What well- read people they are. Thank you so much #dymocks #dymocksrundlemall
14.01.2022 This is a photo of a sleeping bag from the Burke and Wills range of camping gear. Sadly they did not have any camp cookware in the collection. Certainly recommended for those who want to lose themselves in the Great Australian outback
14.01.2022 I have FINALLY finished the new Hilary Mantel. It’s only June and I can already tell it’s going to be my achievement of the year. I’m also wondering if Mantel ( 2x Booker prize winner ) could have used 1st person. Not having to write, he, Thomas Cromwell endlessly would have cut around 200 pages. I loved it, dreamed it, was transported by it and was sad when I finished. Spoiler alert (look away if you are not as smug as me) - it ends with a vivid description of what being beheaded must have felt like for he, Thomas Cromwell.
14.01.2022 I had such a fun time at Two Wells this morning talking about my book and enjoying a fantastic lunch cooked by the Two Wells Bowling Club volunteers (photo attached - sorry that I have already taken a bite of the sausage roll- the Cream Horn was also incredible). Overwhelmed by my lovely bag of Adelaide Plains goodies - thank you all so much to the Adelaide Plains Library, Meg’s Bookshop and the kind people of Two Wells.
12.01.2022 Success! My new potted succulent bird feeder works a treat. Very much looking forward to buying a new succulent every day to feed these cockatoos. #cockatoos
11.01.2022 I’m off to Two Wells - and planning a visit to the amazing bakery ....
10.01.2022 I am loving how much I look like the obelisk at Robe SA in my new @binnywear red & white striped skirt (swipe to see the real Obelisk which is actually the same height as me in real life). Stripes are my favourite thing ever, so thank you Binny so much for using them this season. Please note - the mysterious shadow over my crotch is my iPhone - I hope.
05.01.2022 Looking forward to going to Two Wells on Friday and discussing the 12 step program of becoming a former lawyer and talking about my book - A How Not To Do It manual for country life .
