22.01.2022 Horse radish is back! Recent wet weather made the farm (out by Lake Eildon) too wet to harvest. After a run of some dry (but not necessarily warm weather) The harvester was out and a fresh batch of Horseradish was delivered over the weekend.
21.01.2022 When regular customer Kenny Doyle came into my store and bought all of my Habaneros and Birds Eye Chilies , I had to ask why. It turns out the Kenny spent about five years in Guatemala where he made a living making chili sauce for local restaurants and cafes. Now back in Australia Kenny wants to get back into making authentic chili sauces. Kenny turned up at my store on Wednesday night carrying this dodgy looking case filled with the goods. You can try and buy his sauces at t...he shop. Both the sweet and hot taste fresh and have a distinct Latin American edge, the hot sauce, made from Habaneros is super hot but tasty and goes well with corn chips, the sweet version is tasty with a good after burn and would go excellently with spring rolls. All the sauces have been made from chilies bought at the shop!
21.01.2022 October is mushroom month. Victorian mushroom growers are contributing $50,000 to the McGrath Foundation. Therefore the Australian Mushroom Growers Association is asking that we all throw in a few extra mushrooms into our shopping bags to support this generous gesture.
