And that is what our Isle of Capri Bridge project team in Queensland did recently when they assembled a crane weighing 110 tonne on site, marking the start of construction. 10.01.2022 Were partnering with Main Roads Western Australia, BG&E and Golder to improve the safety of the Leach Highway and Welshpool Road intersection. Works on the project, valued at $93 million, include: - a new bridge taking Leach Highway over Welshpool Road to create a grade-separated interchange; - duplicate the existing Leach Highway bridge over the railway; and... - a shared path along Leach Highway from Sevenoaks Street to Orrong Road. The interchange will improve safety and efficiency, and reduce travel times by alleviating pressure on the local road network.

This vital piece of water infrastructure will connect Denmark to their Lower Great Southern Town Water Supply Scheme, future proofing the town for climate change.

Built for repeat client Department of Transport and Main Roads (Queensland), the $12.8 million project involved realignment of Bruce Highway, including bridge construction and approaches, to remove the severe curve in the existing alignment. Just another example of Georgiou working with the government to improve Australian infrastructure.

05.01.2022 At Georgiou, not only are our people our most valuable asset but we consider them family. Thats why getting together with our own families to celebrate an achievement is so important to us! Our plant team recently held a Family Day to celebrate completion of the CAT 657E Scrapers rebuilds. The project took a huge nine months to complete and the team deserved the chance to celebrate after all of their hard work. As you can see the children had a lot of fun checking out all of the different types of machinery!

05.01.2022 Western Australia has some of the best beaches in the world and sometimes our projects take us to them! Like in 2005, when Georgiou was awarded the contract for the Kwinana Power Station Discharge Refurbishment project for client Verve Energy. Valued at $2.8 million, the project required the refurbishment of the existing and operational water discharge canal. ... To minimise disruption to canal operations, the project team employed an innovative crane support platform for installation works, which also reduced the time spent on construction. Just another WA project delivered by Georgiou on time and on budget!

05.01.2022 Our Karel Avenue Upgrade project team in WA is doing its bit for the environment, reducing project construction waste by using Crushed Recycled Concrete as a substitute for standard limestone subbase. This alternative method allows the project to mitigate the use of a natural resource, recycling approximately 3,600 tonnes of a construction waste product. Just another thing were doing to minimise our impact on the environment while working with Main Roads Western Australia to sustainably manage resources.

04.01.2022 Here at Georgiou, we aim to deliver our projects to a high quality and with as little disruption to the community as possible. And sometimes that means working over live railway tracks! Like in Caboolture, Queensland where we built our first bridge project for client Peet Communities as part of the Riverbank Estate entry in 2012. ... Valued at $10 million, the 18-metre-wide bridge was constructed over a live rail and included six piles on either side and 27 beams over the rail line.
