20.01.2022 Centaurus A Galaxy (NGC5128) Located: 10-16 million light years from Earth The centre of this galaxy contains a supermassive black hole with a mass of 55 million solar masses. I was able to capture more data (an extra 60 frames) on Centaurus A from my backyard and merge that with the pics that I took at Moranghurk.... Image acquired by: ASIAir Pro Telescope: ED100 refractor Mount: NEQ6 Camera: Nikon d5500 (unmodded) 65 lights x 120 seconds 20 darks x 120 seconds ISO1600 Image stacked in DSS and colour corrected in Photoshop. 09.01.2022 I am so thrilled with the results I got last Sunday Nov 8th. It's been over 2 years since I did anything as serious as this set of photos. I have done away with the PC and the Apple laptop and opted for the ASIAIR Pro (Rasperry Pie system). It comes with a bit of a learning curve, but its been great to get hints and advise from members of the ASV on how to learn this new system. I also worked out plate solving too (too hard to explain what that means, so Google it if you're i...nterested). Anyway here are my pics taken from my backyard in Clifton Springs, using my unmodded Nikon d5500, NEQ6 mount, ED100 refractor telescope and the ASIAir Pro operated using my iPad. All photos taken were using ISO1600, each pic had 30 light frames that were stacked together and calibration bias, darks and flats applied (30 each of those). Images are: Sun with a few sunspots, Witches Head Nebula, The Great Nebula in Orion, The Pleades and the Helix Nebula.
