19.01.2022 WOW, what an exhausting, emotional roller coaster weve been riding this week. This afternoon we have had a staff meeting to discuss our feelings in regards to still operating. As a team we have made the decision with a heavy heart to close our salon temporarily from 1pm Saturday 28th March. With the increasing risk that Covid-19 poses to you our clients, the community, ourselves and our families we feel its best for us to follow the advice given to everyone else and stay ...home. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our friends, family and clients for their support and understanding at this difficult time. Lastly I would like to express the love and gratitude I have for my team. I have never been more proud of the effort, dedication and support of my girls. The physical, mental and emotional strain that we have worked under this week has left us exhausted. We will endeavour to contact everyone that has an upcoming appointment and will keep you posted on social media with any updates. 13.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL CLIENTS Tomorrow we will reopen all be it with limited staff and hours. With the restrictions still in place, we are only having two staff rostered on at a time with an apprentice to do all of the necessary cleaning to ensure the safety of our guests. We asked in return that if you are unwell or think that you may have been in contact with someone who is, please let us know so that we can reschedule your appointment. ... We will be working on an appointment only basis, not taking any walk ins or new clients at this time. We ask that where possible be flexible with appointment times and days as we do our best to fit as many of you in but with social distancing guidelines in place. At this stage not all of our stylists are returning but we will be in touch with all of you that have appointments to confirm whether your preferred stylist is available. Courtney spent most of today ringing to confirm appointments already booked for this week and working through our long list of clients waiting for appointments. As we are currently working with less than half of our staff our week has filled up fast. Secondly we ask that you kindly reschedule your appointment for a later time when you are well. We have removed all magazines from the salon but please feel free to bring your own, or to use our complimentary wifi on your device As we are in close contact with clients it is important for us to value our health and yours. Thank you LINK: https://www.theahc.org.au//hairdressers-and-community-at-r _________________________________________________________ HAIRDRESSERS AND COMMUNITY AT RISK BY BEING LEFT OFF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS COVID-19 SHUT DOWN LIST For immediate release 25 March 2020 Approximately 40,000 hairdressers and barbers continue to be at risk following the Federal Governments announcement last night to leave hairdressing off its latest COVID-19 shut down list. In addition, salons are forced to only conduct 30 minute appointments, which is not a viable time frame to conduct most hairdressing services and offer a professional experience for clients. This decision is outrageous, says Australian Hairdressing Council CEO Sandy Chong. Around 40,000 hairdressers and barbers continue to be at risk of as they are directly exposed to large members of the public. Why beauty was shut down but hairdressing wasnt, I dont understand. The Fair Work Act, as it stands, makes it costly for businesses if they choose to stand down without the Governments directive. As for the 30 minute appointment rule, that cuts out most services that salons offer their clients, particularly colour. Whilst many barbers can do a male haircut within that time frame, it really isnt feasible for a majority of hairdressing salons. At tonights National Cabinet meeting, Ms Chong says its vital that the stand down of hairdressing and barbering is on the schedule for discussion. We must be on the agenda at tonights meeting so that this decision can be reversed. The Government must close hairdressing and barbering down for the safety of our workers and the community.
