20.01.2022 2015 LiveLighter State Championships "As confirmed in recent Club communications we will conduct the 2015 LiveLighter State Championships on the weekend of 28th/29th March at HBF Stadium in Short Course format so members travelling to the 2015 National Championships in Hobart (8-11 April) will have the chance to have trial SC swims. This option is provided where possible every five or so years as part of the philosophy of holding the event prior to Nationals Championships, in Short Course mode and in country venues to accommodate different needs of members and Clubs. This weekend date is not ideal, with the 2015 HBF State OWS being held the week prior, however we hope that members will consider participating in both events, so book the dates in your diaries now."

20.01.2022 Our "Masters Swimming WA" 2015 state record holders Kay, Julie & Anthony with club president Alan.

15.01.2022 Many of you will remember well our former member John De Jong and some of you may not have had the fortune to have known him, however I would like to let you al...l know that John sadly passed away during the week and his funeral will be held at Geraldton crematorium on Wednesday at 2.30pm. John was a fantastic swimmer, in particular as a breastroker, and he competed both at State Championships and the Masters Worlds which were held in Perth, earning gold medals as he competed in 85+ age group. We were only to see him swim as an 80 year old and one wonders how far he could have gone in the field of swimming had not World Wars intervened. Our condolences go out to his wife and family. 13.01.2022 Come along and join up for 2015. Registration now open (: . Go to - http://www.mswa.asn.au/... Masters Swimming Australia through the State Branch has instructed us that we must invoke the 3 week rule absolutely. We will do this as from 1st January 2015. This means that we welcome new swimmers to join in with our training sessions for 3 weeks without having to join the club. But you cannot continue to train with us thereafter unless you join the club. Currently the annual fees are $90, of which $70 is paid online and the balance of $20 must be paid to the Club Treasurer.

13.01.2022 ENDURANCE 1000 2014 - RESULTS Dear club members, Congratulations - you have done your club proud. ... The point score for 2014 is 4939. It is an amazing total, compared for example with the paltry 2837 we gained last year. It is even more impressive compared with Albany's score last year of 3903. If we end up being the top country club, it will mean that we have made a clean sweep of country clubs in 2014, winning the Country Carnival by Correspondence, the Country Shield at the State Championships and the Country Award for the Endurance 1000. No country club has won all awards in one year. BUT: The most important part in getting all these points is the massive total of 671 scored by Jan Gill. That is absolutely brilliant. In the past 300 was a big achievement but she has blown that apart. This year we had 5 swimmers to get more than 300. Well done to everybody.

11.01.2022 At the WA Masters Swimming Championships, the Infigen Energy Geraldton AUSSI Masters Swimming Club finished third overall behind Claremont and Beatty Park. We beat many larger metropolitan clubs. We won the Country Shield to keep our record intact of many consecutive wins. Kay Trimble and Julie Brennen were their age group State Champions. Ross Fawell broke two State Records on Saturday and just missed two on Sunday. Sharon Haddon won the Have-a-go Award for the best first ...year swimmer at the States who contributes in club activities. The Judges were not only impressed with her club involvement but amazed that she was able to go from swimming 25m to the Busselton Jetty swim in one year. The icing on the cake was Julie Brennans three State Records including demolishing Shane Goulds 50m Freestyle record which has stood for 14 years. Whilst we had many stars it was the members swimming all of their 6 swims and then backing up in the relays that made up most of our points. All are champions. Thanks go to Sandy and Gail for organising the accommodation and to Julie for all the work as caterer. The meals were magnificent in both quality and quantity. The carbo-overload was fantastic and the steaks brilliant. See more

11.01.2022 The Relics team at the Aussi Nationals 2018 Listed are the results of those who won medals at the Nationals but all 7 of them contributed to the amazing award of Top Small club and Geraldton came 21st out of 104 club who competed from all over the country. The team is left to right Al Lawrie, Geoff Lawrence, Mike Osborn, Amber Jackson, Jan Gill, Kay Trimble, Steve Smith. Jan 5 Gold 1 Bronze... Amber 6 Bronze Mike 2 Bronze Jan also got 4 State records. AND Geraldton also had 3 Age Group winners (State competition, not Nationals as far as we can ascertain but I will ask Steve to verify this) Jan won her Age Group 80 84 Amber 1st 30 34 Steve 1st 65 69

09.01.2022 Geraldton AUSSI Masters are back training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 17:45 to 18:45 in the 25 meter pool ! Why not Come along !

06.01.2022 Hi Members and others, 1. On the weekend of 12/13 April, Kim Tyler will be here to conduct coaching sessions on both Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9.00am. We will still have our distance swims on Saturday and our races on Sunday but she will be working with each of us and giving us tips how to swim faster. She is an invaluable teacher of stroke technique and carnival preparation. It is definitely worthwhile putting everything else aside and being there. Everybody is welcome... 2 On Saturday night 12th April 7pm, we will have a BYO everything at my place so you can catch up with Kim out of the water. 3. If you are competing at the States you have to give your nominations to Gail - with the $40 entry fee - soon. 4 Tomorrow night (Thursday 3 April) Paul will be conducting a session on Breaststroke and we will be doing breaststroke drills next week. So if you want to learn how to do it like Paul, be there or be left behind. 5 It has been suggested that we have an extra training session on Saturday mornings in the lead up to the States. If you want to do a weekend swim, join the club on Sunday mornings for our racing session. Remember that you train to train but you compete to win.

05.01.2022 Well Done to all swimmers on representing Geraldton AUSSI Masters in MSWA Livelighter All Club Challenge in Perth over the weekend.
