25.01.2022 DAY 8 OF OUR 12 DAYS OF GRATITUDE and we are so grateful for stillness. As we head into Christmas week it is the ideal time to maintain or start a stillness practise. Sitting in a quiet space with your eyes closed for 5 mins with an awareness towards your breathe is a great start. As Thich Nhat Hanh says "When our mind is calm we can see reality more clearly, like still water reflecting the trees, the clouds and the blue sky. Stillness is the foundation of understanding and i...nsight". From a place of stillness you can approach the busyness of this week more calmly. We would love to hear what you are grateful for in the comments below

25.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: May your love & gratitude flow freely all week

24.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: "I AM ENOUGH" If we allow ourselves to be accepting and open to our practise exactly as it is in each moment we never need to feel as though we are missing out. Remember it is not the posture we are able to do that defines our practise.....it is the amount of awareness we bring to the posture that aligns us with the abundance we already have, the reminder that we are enough.... Whenever feelings of lacking, wanting or desiring more arise, practise using the mantra "I am enough" and notice how it affects your life this week. Piles of Monday smiles Jody & Judy xx

24.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: We've heard that thoughts, words & actions that come from love & gratitude build the most beautiful houses Have a fabulous week yogis xx Jody & Judy

21.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: Kind thoughts, Kind words, Kind actions This weeks yoga class theme is AHIMSA - the first of the yama's which is at the heart of practising yoga. It's a wonderful reminder that at the heart of yoga is LOVE

19.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S YOGA WORD: CHAKRA The word chakra translates as wheel. In a yoga sense it refers to the wheels of energy within us. The famous inventor Nikola Tesler said "If you want to understand the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration". These words are so relevant when it comes to understanding the energetics of our body and the chakras as they all work on a varying scale of frequencies and vibrations.... The chakras are points of energy located throughout our subtle body (subtle refers to something that we cant see but can certainly feel energetically). The 7 main chakras are located along the length of our spine and they link to our physical, spiritual, mental & emotional well-being. The chakra system has been used in connection with yoga for thousands of years before the formal invention of physical medicine. Therefore identifying each of the chakras and their relationship to our own lives can give a deep insight into areas of ourselves we may have neglected. You can start by experimenting with the various practises linked to each chakra and notice any changes that occur along the way. Remembering that as with all aspects of yoga, working with the chakras is about self-discovery and offers a lifetime of exploration. Happy exploring yogis

19.01.2022 COMPASSIONATE THOUGHTS FOR THURSDAY: Take a short break from whatever you are doing and place your hands over your heart. Breathing in....grace, love and understanding and breathing out....offering compassion from your heart that flows freely & openly towards yourself and others. Have a wonderful day everyone

18.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: "Let me live, love and say it well in good sentences" ~ Sylvia Plath In yoga classes this week we are diving back into the heart of our yoga practise. Reminding ourselves that all thoughts, words & actions can com from a place of love. May all beings everywhere experience love & kindness

16.01.2022 SWEET SUNDAY VIBES EVERYONE

15.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: Listen deeply, what do you hear? Satya is the second yama which translates as "Truth". We are exploring this as our theme in classes this week. It requires dedicated svadhyaya (self-study, reflection, contemplation & quiet practises) that give us the space to "find our truth" or "speak our truth". Learning how to be honest & authentic with ourselves. Our yoga practise gives us the space to listen deeply to our inner voice so we can ask "What do I hear, when ...I listen?" Happy Monday yogis

15.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: Move with intention & love through each day this week, knowing there is always something to be grateful for. Piles of Monday smiles everyone

11.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: The third yama, Asteya (non-stealing) is our focus this week. Asteya arises from the fluctuations of the mind (vritti), thoughts like "I'm not good enough" or "I don't have enough" are inadvertently related to stealing things like time, energy & wanting more than you need. Repeating the mantra:... I do enough I have enough I am enough will help you to move forward towards feeling as though you already have all you need. Piles of Monday smiles yogis

11.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S WISDOM: May the path you choose today be clear & joyous

11.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S YOGA WORD: BHAKTI Bhakti mean devotion. A spiritual practise that focuses on loving devotion towards any personal deity. Bhakti yoga is mentioned in some of the ancient yoga texts as meaning participation, devotion and love for any endeavour. "To encourage Bhakti, it is helpful to start by cultivating reverence to something which appears to be separate from yourself, through acknowledgment of the sacred essence within it. This could be as simple as appreciating t...he fact that you have woken up each morning before you get out of bed. It could be an acknowledgment of the aliveness in your breath and in your heartbeat, or simply noticing the innate beauty in a flower or the sunshine." An appreciation for all that goes into the food we eat is another example of Bhakti. On more subtle levels, chanting prayers or mantras is also a lovely way to get in touch with the Divine qualities of the Universe. Chanting Om in class is a great example. With Love for your Wednesday

11.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S WISDOM: Take it slow & simplify your daily routines. Try not to take on so much. Move through whatever you have planned for your day aware and awake with full attention to each activity to help maximise the use of your time & energy.... Have a wonderful Wednesday Piles of energy efficient smiles everyone

10.01.2022 DAY 9 OF OUR 12 DAYS OF GRATITUDE and we are eternally grateful for the joyous journey which is our yoga practise. . "Yoga is the dance of every cell, with the music of every breath that creates inner serenity and harmony" ~ Debasish Mridha We would love to hear what you are grateful for in the comments below ... '

09.01.2022 WELCOME TO OUR 12 DAYS OF GRATITUDE Each day from now until Christmas day we are going to put up a gratitude post and would love to hear what you're grateful for each day in the comments below. Open your heart, live, love and laugh at how beautiful this life is So grateful to my inspirational mentor, Alicia Samdhana Yoga for introducing this video to me during our mindshift training

08.01.2022 MONDAY'S MANTRA: According to Ayurveda, a daily routine (Dinacharya), is very important to establish balance in each person's constitution. "It is good to wake up before the sun rises, when there are loving (sattvic) qualities in nature that bring peace of mind and freshness to the senses" ~ Vasant Lad... Rise and shine early each morning this week to explore the sattvic qualities of peace, love & joy that exist in your own innate nature

08.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S WISDOM: "Eventually the integrity of the asana becomes vibrant without effort, it becomes clear without struggle and thus it becomes a seat of refuge. Then we experience a quietness that spontaneously arises" ~ Judith Hanson Lasater : Quietly moving through part of our asana flow this week.

08.01.2022 DAY 10 OF OUR 12 DAYS OF GRATITUDE and today we are grateful for someone in our lives, because so many people in our lives deserve some simple words or gestures of appreciation, love & gratefulness every day. Relaying gratitude by saying: I appreciate your help... I am grateful for you today Thank you so much for your contribution Thank you for all your help "Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it" ~ William Arthur Ward We would love to hear who you are grateful for in the comments below.

05.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S WISDOM: Live your yoga off your mat As you explore more deeply into your yoga you realise that it is not just a physical practise. It develops into a holistic experience of your body, heart and mind. It becomes a way of living, a way of showing up in the world. This body-mind presence guides us to become more loving, kind & compassionate towards ourselves & others through everything we do (AHIMSA)... How do you practise yoga off the mat? With love & kindness for your Wednesday yogis Jody & Judy xx

04.01.2022 FRIDAY FEELS: Sea, Air & Sun May your weekend be filled with some mother earth power : Kalbarri - Jaques Point to Red Bluff loop walk

01.01.2022 DAY 11 OF OUR 12 DAYS OF GRATITUDE brings us to being so grateful for the night sky. In the mid west of WA at this time of the year we get the most spectacularly clear night skies and at the moment we have been lucky enough to observe the great conjunction of the 2 largest planets in our solar system. Beautiful Jupiter with its moons & spectacular Saturn have been shining brightly shortly after sunset every evening this week. NASA say's this rare event only happens about ever...y 800 years. So grateful to be able to view the wonder and awe of the night sky

01.01.2022 All the reasons and more of why we love our yoga practises

01.01.2022 WEDNESDAY'S WISDOM: Pushing our bodies beyond healthy boundaries because we might be afraid of not being good enough robs ourselves of being able to be aware & present with the posture & ourselves for exactly the way things are in that moment. Through practising the first 3 yamas - Ahimsa, Satya & Asteya we lovingly & kindly take our time to listen deeply to our inner wisdom to realise we don't have to take more than we need. As beautifully said by Emma Newlyn "If we allow ou...rselves to be open & accepting to how our practise is at that moment on the mat, we never need to feel as though we're losing out if some asanas are a little out of reach". You are enough, you do enough, you have enough Piles of Wednesday smiles yogis : Yoga Journal

01.01.2022 ALWAYS LEARNING: Feeling very blessed to be able to connect with my Yoga Australia community on Thursday afternoon's through the wonderfully inspirational & educational online forums. Thank you so much Angie from Vitality Matters for sharing all your wisdom & information through your beautifully soothing & settling voice May all beings everywhere be loved, happy & free

01.01.2022 SEVA SUNDAY: Seva is a sanskrit word meaning selfless service, the art of serving from our hearts with no expectations of outcome. When we listen to our hearts we realise that our innermost nature is one of kindness & giving to others. ... From our hearts we deeply thank all the Geraldton yogis who participated in our 3 seva project workshops. We have raised $1725 to go to: Happy Boxes Project National Justice Project Doctors without boarders As Alicia says so aptly "At a time when so many are entrenched with debt, worry, fear, anxiety we who are so privileged must join forces and serve, not because it's a good idea but because it's simply necessary". With Love & gratitude Jody, Alicia & Judy
