24.01.2022 Officially today we conceded we do not have enough water to irrigate anything for cow feed. From here on we will be solely relying on bought in feed Come on Governments we need a levy on milk now or there won’t be a dairy industry in Qld or NSW. 70 cents a litre is way not enough to produce milk in this environment. It will take floods and multiple seasons of good soaking rain to restore irrigation supplies. Meanwhile we are living hand to mouth every month, just living on hope. 100 acres of forage sorghum we can’t even get out of the ground. PS: We aren’t even getting 70 cents for our milk.

22.01.2022 Lily I don’t think you’re qualified to drive that. First time in 3 years we can plant winter crop on moisture. This is going to take a while. 18 run combine 171HP tractor. Overkill much. Oh well Lily shove over and you can come for the ride.

09.01.2022 This 40 degree heat is depressing. Hope all my fellow drought stricken dairy farmers are applying for every bit of help they can get from state and federal government. Have you got your drought management plan done to lift your freight subsidy ceiling amount? Have you applied to RIC to refinance half your loan (now interest free for 2 years) Have you applied to Rural Aid to pay $1500 towards an outstanding bill? You can also get $500 towards groceries. I know forms can be daunting to fill out, but it is worth doing. I have made it my mission to get those things done because we need all the help we can get to survive this. If you need a poke and a prod if it is mentally too much to bother with, message me. I know how hard it can be, but you need to do this stuff!
