24.01.2022 NED In his old age Ned is pretty darn perfect. He has some hearing loss and we are working on adapting hand signals and vibration recalls. He is now well behaved around children and rarely reacts to other dogs. During his younger years however he had the typical terrier attitude to other dogs and was aggressive to children to the point of needing to be muzzled around them. Despite not being the best put together dog he has had minimal medical issues throughout his life until recently requiring 2 major jaw surgeries at 12yrs of age. He still loves physical activity and needs frequent short walks to keep his weight in check.
17.01.2022 PRODUCT REVIEW! Harmony Orthopaedic Odour Resist Memory Foam Dog Basket Grey Medium from Petbarn. We absolutely love it. Thinking about getting more than one cause everyone wants to be in it. And the cover completely zips off for easy washing. ... See more
16.01.2022 TEXAS Texas was the first dog that I have owned that came into my care as an adult. He was 12months old and had just gone through a number of operations and restricted aftercare due to a fractured leg. He was also an entire male with very minimal training. Particularly for his mental health we elected to amputate his hind leg so we could minimize his ongoing activity restrictions. Overall he has a serious lack of impulse control, reactivity and barrier frustration. This mea...ns he reacts to stimuli (usually cars and dogs) especially when he is contained via a leash or fence. One of his most annoying behaviours is barking in the car! He is also epileptic and requires twice daily medication as well as regular blood tests. On the plus side he is super enthusiastic when it comes to training and is very food motivated. In a low distraction environment he is very obedient and focused. His lack of a leg has never held him back and he has competed successfully in obedience, dancing with dogs and agility. Without a barrier in place he is fine with many other pets and great with kids. He is very much still a work in progress but his recall and ability to focus on me is always improving. See more
16.01.2022 Been a bit jealous of people who get to work from home . . . however . . .tonight trying to catch up on work stuff and I'm sitting on a 2 seater couch with 1 big dog squished either side of me and a terrier literally curled up under the laptop on my lap . . . making it very difficult to get things done!
15.01.2022 Similar to Texas logic.

09.01.2022 FOOD REVIEW I'm not a huge fan of feeding (particularly a chemotherapy patient) raw food but this has also passed Alex's post chemo taste test. Nice and easy backup food to have in the freezer
09.01.2022 Twice today I’ve managed to sneak home without alerting the puppers. Even though he is a bit of a drama queen about being left behind, Alex settles super well. Just snoozing on the couch.
06.01.2022 My Intelligent Pets toys have been great for everyone
02.01.2022 Lots of people often have trouble visualizing what their overweight animals should look like at a pet weight. Veterinarians will give various descriptions to ow...ners, such as how there should be a tuck in the waist visible from both the top down and from the side profile for many breeds. Here are some outlined photos of overweight dogs to show what a rough acceptable weight would look like on them. Every breed is unique and will have different attributes for their build and body style depending on their lineage.
