21.01.2022 Reiki magic. Have you ever experienced it? I've been fortunate enough to have had Reiki in my family since I was a young girl. ... My dad learnt & practiced Reiki on us firstly, when I was very young. All I remember when either myself, my brother or sister was injured or hurt ourselves, was dad placing his hands on us. I've been fortunate to have this hands on healing in my family, for close to 40 years. Dad, Mum, my brother & I are all able to share Reiki with others. The laying of hands on a person or animal body to comfort or relieve pain, is instinctual. When people experience pain, the first thing most do, is to put their hands on it. When a child falls over & scrapes her knee, she wanted mother to touch it or kiss it & make it better. Human touch conveys warmth & healing. Human touch conveys caring & love. This simple act is the basis for all touch healing techniques. So back to my question....have you ever experienced Reiki? If you are curious & would like to know more about it, I would love you to message me. I offer Reiki sessions with iRest guided meditation, sound healing & chakra balancing. 21.01.2022 I've been a mouth breather my whole life. Did you know that up to 25% of the population are? I had asthma as a kid. If a cold was going around, I would get it. Constant respiratory & sinus issues. I didn't have the awareness to realise that I was mouth breather... & that it is not normal, UNTIL NOW!!... Since discovering this through mental health yoga with my yoga teacher Maria Kirsten @yogaforgrownups & reading research done by James Nestor @mrjamesnestor, the author of Breath, my life has completely changed. I have been safely taping my mouth closed to go to sleep for the past 4 weeks. I use a very weak tape. I only use a small square over my mouth. I'm not taping my mouth shut. I'm ensuring my jaw rests on top of each other. I can still talk, cough & do anything if need be. Im sleeping so deeply & soundly, even if my daughter comes in through the night needing me. I've found that insomnia is actually a breathing disorder! If you aren't breathing correctly, or sleeping properly, you will never be completely healthy! This has changed so much for me. I am sharing with you two pics. The first is the first morning after I taped for the first time. The second pic is from this morning. I'm stoked because my face is changing. My dark circles are changing. Im also sharing this as there may be others out there not sleeping well or breathing properly. 19.01.2022 Every night for over 5 months now... I've been placing a small piece of tape over my mouth, to retrain my brain to nose breathe. I was a mouth breather during sleep!! ... But no more. No more blocked nose when I wake up or dry mouth upon waking. No more waking to go to the toilet through the night. Waking up 3-4 times a night is NOT normal. How often do you skip sleep because you're TOO BUSY? Missing out on 60-90 minutes a night of sleep, lowers your cognitive function, can play havoc on your emotional state & lowers your productivity by 30%. That's just one night! The pic on the left was taken this morning. The pic on the right was taken at the end of July. The difference in my face I feel, is amazing. Dark circles are disappearing. My nasal passages are widening. I feel younger & certainly look it. Sleep is such a powerful & magical elixir for our health & wellness. It's so unfortunate that it's underrated. I've been doing my own research to assist with my own sleep & I'm loving the results. I'm holding "The Holiday Hush" this Saturday 19 December , 2-4pm @yourbreathing_space, to share & discuss improving sleep quality, sleep protocols, & sleep hygiene. Breathwork is super important for sleep & will be demonstrating tips. I will be sharing iRest guided meditation tools for deep relaxation. 16.01.2022 Magical skies today! As a kid, I used to love laying on the grass watching the clouds.... looking for shapes, animals or whatever I could make out in the sky, staring at the clouds. I still LOVE laying on the sand now with my daughter, looking for cloud animals & shapes.... But my absolute favourite way to watch the clouds now, is to look up in the sky, when I'm sitting on my surfboard, out in of the ocean.. It's the best feeling in the world. Such a feeling of connection with the ocean, sky & land. There is nothing quite like it. Are you a cloud gazer? Do you enjoy watching the clouds like I do? 03.01.2022 Out there! I put my experimenting to the test today. I breathed through my nose while running down to the water AND my entire surf. It certainly was challenging. But with practice, it will get easier.... I think the hardest part was all the water coming out of my nose....trying not to inhale it. I did feel more energised the whole surf. No fatigue.. that usually sets in after an hour or so. How do you breathe when you are surfing? Mouth....nose? Or a mix of both?? Or for my land buddies, how do you breathe when you are running? I'm so intrigued to find out. Please do message me & fill me in. Breathe & Be G x
