10.01.2022 Die Vorschler haben letzten Samstag gelernt, warum man in Deutschland Fasching, auch Karneval genannt, feiert, und dafr ihre eigenen Masken gebastelt. On Saturday the Foundation Class learned about how people celebrate "Karneval" or "Fasching" in Germany. The students also made their own "Karnevalsmasken".

08.01.2022 One key topic that is always covered in year 1 are the seasons, always beginning with summer through to spring. Seasons are an excellent topic to introduce verbs and adjectives as I encourage students to think of seasonal activities and the characteristics of each season. For each season we have decided to make a poster listing various activities associated with it. In the middle of the poster there is always a sentence starter which students can then write an ending to and draw a picture to accompany it. Hence learning basic sentence structure and acquiring new vocabulary. Thanks, Joseph!

07.01.2022 Like every year, we participated in the AGTV Poetry Competition, which is split up in two parts, the regional final and the state final. The students have to learn a poem in German, choosing between the Open and DaF category (the Open category is for those students, who also speak German at home while the DaF category is for those ones who learn German exclusively at school). With the latest Covid restriction, the competition had a slightly different format this year. The students were asked to submit a video of themselves reciting a poem. And the entries we received were outstanding, here are the winners
