20.01.2022 Liebe Eltern, zusammen mit einigen befreundeten kleinen Firmen haben wir die letzten 3 Tage ein Projekt aus dem Boden gestampft. Kurz zusammengefasst: dabei handelt es sich um 97 kostenlosen Hörgeschichten für Kinder in 5 Kategorien mit Laufzeiten von 2:30 min bis ca. 20:00 Minuten. Die Geschichten sind geeignet für Kinder im Alter bis 12 Jahre. Die Seite lautet:... www.diekurzgeschichte.de Die Geschichten dort sind zum gratis Download und Streaming, da wir etwas Gutes in einer schwierigen Zeit tun wollen. Viele Eltern müssen in der Corona-Krise Homeoffice und Kinderbetreuung unter einen Hut bekommen. Mit den Kindergeschichten möchten wir Eltern ein wenig Freiräume schaffen. Darf gerne geteilt werden. 12.01.2022 Welcome back to term 2-2020 via online schooling from SAT 2/5/2020 Good news: the latest survey clearly indicated that we are going to continue with the German School ONLINE in Term 2, even though with a reduced number of hours for the students attending the Saturday classes. ... Thank you to all families and teachers for their support & patience with the transition. Briefly, we would like to outline again the structure and the reasons for this: All School events are now only assuming a 2-hour learning schedule. This schedule will include a 45-60 minutes video class, as well as work allocated through the Google classroom; the latter involves directed learning using the Anton.deApp. All these activities are coordinated by the teacher. The teacher will also check in on allocated work in google classroom. This online delivery requires a lot of preparation time by our teachers. Therefore, it was decided that teachers should be paid for 2 hours, and the fees for term 2 will be $135 across all classes. The aim for term 2 is to emphasise with the German schooling the community aspect through games, reading, speaking etc in a fun & engaging way instead of pushing strictly for the academic achievements. We hope that you will support this approach. We follow government instructions and hope to return to face-to-face teaching in term 3-2020. Please follow the instructions from the teachers via the individual class WhatsApp groups, Google classroom, Anton App and any other learning material your teacher provided. 05.01.2022 A letter from a school principal and teacher - worthy of a read! Dear parents with school aged children You might be inclined to create a minute by minute schedule for your kids. You have high hopes of hours of learning, including online activities, science experiments, and book reports. You’ll limit technology until everything is done! But here’s the thing...... Our kids are just as scared as we are right now. Our kids not only can hear everything that is going on around them, but they feel our constant tension and anxiety. They have never experienced anything like this before. Although the idea of being off of school for weeks sounds awesome, they are probably picturing a fun time like summer break, not the reality of being trapped at home and not seeing their friends. Over the coming weeks, you will see an increase in behavior issues with your kids. Whether it’s anxiety, or anger, or protest that they can’t do things normally - it will happen. You’ll see more meltdowns, tantrums, and oppositional behavior in the coming weeks. This is normal and expected under these circumstances. What kids need right now is to feel comforted and loved. To feel like it’s all going to be ok. And that might mean that you tear up your perfect schedule and love on your kids a bit more. Play outside and go on walks. Bake cookies and paint pictures. Play board games and watch movies. Do a science experiment together or find virtual field trips of the zoo. Start a book and read together as a family. Snuggle under warm blankets and do nothing. Don’t worry about them regressing in school. Every single kid is in this boat and they all will be ok. When we are back in the classroom, we will all course correct and meet them where they are. Teachers are experts at this! Don’t pick fights with your kids because they don’t want to do math. Don’t scream at your kids for not following the schedule. Don’t mandate 2 hours of learning time if they are resisting it. If I can leave you with one thing, it’s this: at the end of all of this, your kids’ mental health will be more important than their academic skills. And how they felt during this time will stay with them long after the memory of what they did during those weeks is long gone. So keep that in mind, every single day...

05.01.2022 Welche Traditionen pflegt Ihr zu Ostern? Bei uns gibt es immer SOLEIER. Ich setze diese 1 Woche vor Ostern an:... 10-12 Eier min 10 hart kochen Solsud: 60g Salz 1TL Zucker 1TL Kümmel 1TL schwarze Pfefferkörner 3 Pimentkörner 1 Lorbeerblatt 2-3 Schalen einer braunen Zwiebel - alles aufkochen Die hart gekochten Eier abschrecken, mit kleinen Löffel rundherum anknacken und dann in einem Glas mit Sud übergießen (oder Schüssel mit Deckel) und im Kühlschrank ziehen lassen. Nach 3-4 Tagen kosten, ob das Ei salzig genug ist, einfach weiter ziehen lassen. Eier pellen und dann wird die marmorierte Wirkung sichtbar. Lecker zum Butterbrot!
