25.01.2022 LOVELY LUNA! Luna is a 2 year old female German Shepherd. She’s an absolute sweetheart, who finds herself looking for a new family. You may notice that Luna’s... head shape looks a little different to that of your typical GSD; she has an autoimmune disorder called Masticatory Muscle Myosis (MMM). This is where the dog’s immune system identifies its own muscle tissue as foreign and attacks it, specifically the muscles in the face involved with chewing. Dogs with MMM can live relatively normal lives; at the start, dogs develop a swollen head which then reduces and almost sinks into their skull, giving them this distinctive look. In some dogs, the disease can progress and cause jaw problems however, if caught early enough like in Luna’s case, dogs can make a full recovery with the help of prednisone (steroids) and often will not have another flare up. Luna has no issues with the movement of her jaw, she is not on any ongoing medication, and lives a very normal life. Luna has been the only pet, but despite being a little shy at first, she gets along well with other dogs. She would be ok living with a friendly medium-large breed male dog in her new home, but just as happy as an only dog. She has not been tested with cats. Luna needs some more practise walking on lead, but is a clever girl and is very food motivated, so will learn quickly and do well in obedience classes. Luna has been an outside dog all her life; she would love nothing more than to come inside with her family, as she adores people. This girl is extremely gentle and has previously lived with young children, so would love kids in her new home to play with, watch over, and entertain with her super silly zoomies! Luna really is a lovely girl, and she will return her forever family’s new love tenfold, we promise! If you think you could welcome this special girl into your family pack, and give her a second chance, then we would love to hear from you. 24.01.2022 SAMMIE IS SEARCHING FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL Sammie is a handsome and energetic 2 year old boy, looking for his forever family. He has learnt some basic obedience ho...wever, Sammie needs a home that is willing to continue with further training to take him to the next level! Sammie is an affectionate boy who is willing to learn, but is also cheeky and loves to push boundaries. In addition to daily exercise, Sammie needs to keep his clever mind busy, and would benefit from enrichment exercises or even doggy sports like agility. He would be best suited to a home that has large breed or working breed experience. When out and about Sammie can pull on lead, especially if he sees other dogs. He barks when near other dogs, having lacked essential dog socialisation as a puppy; Sammie would benefit from ongoing socialisation and positive reinforcement to help him feel more confident. While Sammie loves to be active, he enjoys his down time, and wants to be with his people, especially for a snuggle on the couch! He hasn’t lived with children before, so we are seeking a home where children are dog savvy and over the age of 14; he is a little too boisterous for very small children. Sammie has always been allowed inside, so we would like to find him a home where this can continue. In his new home, Sammie needs to be the only pet. No small animals or pocket pets, as the temptation to play chasey is too much for him! If you feel you can offer Sammie the love and dedication he needs to help him be the best dog he can be, please fill in an Adoption Application online via our website, or email [email protected] if you are already on our waiting list. www.gsrv.com.au/pages/adopt MC 991003000185662 PER 100058

Our Prime Minister today announced it will take 6 months before we return to normal, I believe with our best practices we can safety navigate through this challenge and even come out of this a better community because of it! As we all know - Life is short, and very much believe in capturing our lovely GSD's now (safety of course) So we encourage you to still consider having portraits and support GSRV during this time, its fun and a wonderful experience, this would also help supporting us too

21.01.2022 LUCY IS LOOKING FOR LOVE Lucy is a gorgeous two year old girl in need of a loving and understanding home. She comes to us with very little experience of the o...utside world, desperate for love and guidance. This poor girl spent the first 9 months of her life tied up at a farm, so she is seeking a family with patience and persistence, who are willing to spend the time needed to unlock her true potential. Lucy has a lot of energy and a very busy mind, so she will need a family committed to providing her ongoing training and socialisation. Due to her lack of experience with other dogs, Lucy would prefer to be an only dog right now, but down the track she may welcome a large breed male into her pack. Lucy has not lived with children before, so only a home where large-breed dog savvy children are over the age of 14 would be suitable. Lucy needs a family where someone is home more often than not, is dedicated to providing her with plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. Do you think you could be the perfect family to give Lucy a second chance at the happy life every GSD deserves? She’s such a lovely young girl, and just needs someone to show her the way. Could you welcome her into your family pack and give her the time, love, patience and commitment she deserves? If so, please fill in an Adoption Application online via our website, or email [email protected], if you are already on our waiting list. https://gsrv.com.au/pages/adopt MC: 953010002515894 PER: 100058

08.01.2022 GENTLE JETHRO Jethro is a gentle eight year old boy who is seeking a special home. Life has not always been kind to Jethro, but despite this, he is an extremely... sweet and loving boy. Jethro enjoys nothing more than a cuddle on the couch and being with people he cares for. Throughout his life, Jethro has not been well cared for, and has suffered at the hands of a man. As a result, he is understandably very timid around men. Jethro is most comfortable around females, and for this reason, we need to find him a home that is a female only household. This is not an easy task, but we feel it is in Jethro’s best interest to find a home where he can feel safe. Jethro is not aggressive towards men, just very frightened. Jethro’s facial scarring was caused by a dog he previously lived with, but amazingly, he is very forgiving and still enjoys meeting new dogs when out and about. We feel he would be happy being an only dog, but a gentle large breed dog may suit him as well. Jethro loves to meet children and enjoys their company; a home with children over the age of 12, who are experienced living with large breed dogs, would suit him best. He is untested with cats. This senior boy is still very active and loves his walks. He walks well on lead and knows his basic commands. He also loves a trip in the car and sits quietly in the back. Loud noises can startle Jethro, so his new home will ideally be a quiet one. Jethro is a GSD gentleman who literally wears his difficult past on his face, but we know his perfect Mumma is out there somewhere, to shower him with love and make him forget it all it’s never too late to learn what love feels like. If you think you could offer Jethro a forever home, please fill in an Adoption Application online via our website. If you are already on our waiting list, email [email protected]. https://gsrv.com.au/pages/adopt MC: 982000167714555 PER: 100058
