25.01.2022 My wife singing to Annie.

25.01.2022 Hi All, It has come to my attention that the RSPCA has been telling members of the public that the reason the sanctuary's application was rejected was due to legal issues. This is not true. The reason cited by the RSPCA was "involvement with the previous owner" and a "conflict of interest" (see attached email to Maleny), both of which are not listed as a legitimate reason for refusing an adoption according to RSPCA's own policies which can be found here - https://kb.rspca.org.au//PP-A2-Animal-Adoption-Guidelines.

24.01.2022 Hi Everyone, No significant updates at this stage, however I have lodged a complaint with the Queensland Human Rights Commission and will shortly be submitting a formal complaint to the Queensland Ombudsman. There are two significant pieces of legislation that we believe the DES have contravened: ... 1. The Public Sector Ethics Act 1994 ; and 2. The Human Rights Act 2019 We will keep you up to date on our progress. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Regards Josh

24.01.2022 Hi All, The DES have now provided a formal response to our complaint. They have advised that they have followed all the correct procedures and legislation and therefore the matter is now considered "closed". This means we will now be making an official complaint with the Queensland Ombudsman and lodging a complaint with QCAT to have their decision reversed. Neither the DES nor the RSPCA have provided answers to some of the specific questions we wanted answered as part of th...eir investigation, therefore we do not consider this matter closed. Interestingly, the DES have laid blame for the decision of where to re-home Annie squarely with the RSPCA. And, not surprisingly, the RSPCA has blamed the DES. So... who is lying? This type of behavior from these trusted organisations is unacceptable. We and the community deserve answers. We hope that the Queensland Ombudsman will assist in investigating this matter. If you haven’t already done so, can you please sign the petition. http://chng.it/KK2HYCFn And share!!

02.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It has come to my attention that number of people who have contacted the RSPCA were advised that the reason the sanctuary’s application to adopt Annie was denied was due to the fact that the sanctuary was not legally able to adopt her in the first place. This is not true. Attached is a copy of the email sent to the sanctuary. The RSPCA are lying to you. They have also said in their statement that it is in fact the DES are the ones who make the decision on where the bird should be rehomed. This is also not true.
