24.01.2022 If you are trying to lose weight & aren't getting anywhere there are some important things to think about... For optimal weight loss, total ingested energy needs to be less than total energy expenditure - Do you know how many calories you are consuming?.. Including that glass of wine or sneaky piece of cake?.. You might be surprised how it all adds up.... Protein - Are you consuming .9 grams of protein/kg/day (or ultimately 90grams) - Did you know that protein intake can be consumed over 3/4 meals per day or all at once, as long as you are getting the recommended amount per day. - Protein has a greater thermogenic effect, a greater satiety response on consumption & the potential for GREATER WEIGHT LOSS, FAT LOSS & LEAN MUSCLE RETENTION. - Protein not only helps your muscles grow, but seeks out other nutrients & reduces intake of them ie. Fats, Carbohydrates. - Protein will leave you feeling more full & satisfied whilst giving you more energy. 08.01.2022 Balance.. it is something that we all want in life & can be tricky to manage at times. But if you are trying to get fit & healthy.. balance can also be a struggle. Training at high intensity definitely has it's place.. but your workout week should be full of peaks & valleys.. strength, mobility & recovery sessions should also be a part of your workout week ... If you neglect these areas & slack off when it comes to recovery (as well as stretching, not drinking enough water, not getting enough quality sleep & not eating a body fueling diet) then this could lead to burn out or injury which will only prevent you from moving forward in your fitness & health journey. Don't forget the basics!.. water, sleep, eat to fuel your body.. it all helps with the balance I've got you covered with the workout balance.. just gotta keep moving

03.01.2022 Want to lose weight & tone?... Something I hear a lot... so let's break it down... Losing fat.. to do this you need to eat less calories ie. Create a calorie deficit. At the end of the day this is all that "diets" offer. If you are in a calorie deficit of any kind you will lose weight! ... Toning.. is done by building muscle. In order to build muscle you need to incorporate a program that focuses on getting stronger & building muscle consistently. There is no shortcut unfortunately, if you want to make changes you are the only one that is in control of these things. We need to be honest when it comes to portion control, that glass of wine & the consistency of our workouts. The only person in control of these things is ourselves.. so it is up to you how far you will take it. Athletes get their bodies through hard work.. the end result speaks for itself.. but if you are going to envy these bodies.. envy the work.. not the end result! Note ** The word easy is not used in this post
