09.01.2022 After somewhat of a ‘different’ year, with many months of some very tough conditions both physically and mentally, our crew finally had their chance to hit out in the 7 Cairns Marathon Festival virtual event on the weekend. Most of our team have been training since January for events which were supposed to go ahead in April/June and July. Instead, a little pandemic got in the way and everything was cancelled, isolation restrictions hit and gyms and training groups were force...d to cease. But knowing that the one thing to keep us all sane is running, we took programming and classes online, we completed training sessions alone and we supported each other in times of need. Some going through some really tough situations with job losses and other personal issues. Yet our little running community pulled together and I’m so proud of every one of them for how they got through the past 5 months helped each other out in many ways. So after a massive 8 months, I’m sure everyone was relieved to finally run for bling. The improvements this year have been outstanding. Well done my crew. We are so proud of our own superstars: Susannah Grace who competed in her 10th 70.3 and smashed today, finishing in the top 20 females (out of 144!) ... And to our husband and wife team, team WOODWARD- Kevin Woodward who cruised the swim and the bike leg and Hariana Woodward who smashed the run. Absolute power couple out there today. Can’t wait for next year when our usual crew of many can compete in June!

05.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone who took part in the 7 Cairns Marathon Festival virtual event this weekend! The Cairns Esplanade was buzzing on Saturday and Sunday morning with keen runners! Not quite as good as the real deal but super happy the event went virtual and gave us all a great goal to train for. Big thanks to the organisers who made this happen!
