23.01.2022 A community hub has opened in Hervey Bay to help budding entrepreneurs kickstart their business ideas. www.7plus.com.au/news #7News

23.01.2022 We believe if everyone grew their own food, our communities would be happier and healthier. We'd have better suntans and dirtier nails. We'd be more connected t...o nature and our neighbours. Life would be juicier and more delicious. We're on a mission to get more people growing, sharing and eating locally grown foods. Join your local grow community and put your patch on the map for free at Grow It Local. See more

21.01.2022 I'm not sure the technology is up to recognising some of the pests that come with organic and homegrown foods just yet! What an interesting industrial revolution we are living in. I hope we can manage the poverty and job displacement better than in past industrial revolutions. There is a community conversation about universal basic income at Kondari Hotel on Wed 23 May. Bookings: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/free-money-or-social-change

13.01.2022 Brazil Shopping Mall does not throw food away they compost and grow more!

12.01.2022 10 years ago, Jerry from ABC Gardening Australia (https://www.abc.net.au/garden/jerry-coleby-williams/9423816) helped Transition Town Hervey Bay with a plant a...nd seed swap. The idea was to build capacity and resistance to outside shock. He gave us food plants to propagate and distribute through the community which we did. In light of current events, is there any interest in starting local food plant swap? I still have some of those plants that originally came from Jerry's garden and I am happy to share, (I only have a few so first come first serve - based in HB). My current focus is more on the economic troubles that we face, because while the masses become unemployed they are less able to focus on environmental issues. If you are interested please check out Hinkler for UBI (https://www.facebook.com/hinklerubi/) I think the admin of Transition Maryborough and SustainaBundy will also reactivate their pages. See more

10.01.2022 Rotherham, UK where the council planted 8 miles of wild flower verges. It has saved 25k in mowing costs. So much better than the brown verges of dead grass from toxic herbicides like glyphosate in Australia. Photos posted by British Beekeeping Association

08.01.2022 We need a Universal Basic Income trial here in Hinkler. Why? The short answer is to put more cash into your pocket to spend into the real, local economy. The ...long answer takes a bit more time. It needs you to think about cool stuff like robots and artificial intelligence, and also the not so cool stuff like electricity bills, fiscal redistribution, social unrest and criminal activity. Join us for a community conversation at Kondari Hotel, Urangan, at 6pm on Wednesday 23 May 2018. The world is saying that we need a full experiment. If we organise ourselves, we could be that experiment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl39KHS07Xc See more

01.01.2022 #India : The perfect snack... Cashew nuts are in high demand, but at the other side of the world, it has become a nightmare for thousands of women
