25.01.2022 What does 'depersonalising' really mean?? When you're selling, your home isn't really yours anymore. It needs to be presented so potential buyers can easily see themselves moving straight in and enjoying THEIR new home. So yes, depersonalising means removing all those lovely family photos, but also ALL other personal items, which could include...... Papers and bills on office desks, items collected from overseas travel, anything related to a particular religion, and personal bathroom products. Basically removing any evidence of you actually living there. I know, it sounds a bit sad, like you're taking all those lovely memories away.
