21.01.2022 Welcome to Awkward Conversations IMPACT’s new initiative where we explore some of the challenging questions happening in homes across the Bundaberg region . Today we start with an issue that affects many in our region and that’s youth job opportunities . We’ve sought advice from IMPACT’s specialist staff, including experts in the areas of employment, youth employment and parenting, to formulate a hypothetical conversation that delves into key aspects of this issue. O...ur purpose isn’t to provide a definitive answer what works for one person may not for another - but to open up conversations in households. Make sure you keep an eye out as we explore more important topics, including the appropriate age for a young person to get a phone and relationship dynamics , in coming weeks. If you’ve got a question you would like our team of experts to delve into, we’d love to hear from you. Simply share a comment below; or if it’s something you would prefer to keep confidential, email [email protected] (confidentiality assured). Check out the response to today’s question at http://ow.ly/gbo650AxmvY See more

03.01.2022 We know our team at the Material Recycling Centre is loaded with heroes and we’re not the only ones that think so. Earlier this week, team members came to the aid of a distraught retired couple who thought they’d lost $500 . The money had been placed in an old phone book for safekeeping. However, the book was mistakenly cast into the recycling bin; the contents of which were picked up and taken to the recycling centre, on University Drive . The situation led to ...a dramatic chain of events that saw our workers sort through a large volume of recycling material. Did they find it? lets take a vote, give us some love if you think they did, or a wow if you think its gone forever! To find out what happened, read the full story at http://ow.ly/u9IW50zsBHK or find the link in our BIO
