25.01.2022 With this long wet season & the COVID 19 keeping people indoors, many are noticing how soiled their upholstery has become. This is especially noticeable on cotton fabrics when body oils from sweat/perspiration gets into the fabric. Leaving it there & not having your furniture professionally cleaned can result in further damage & permanent staining to the furniture which may also become a health hazard.... We recommend all furniture be professionally cleaned every twelve months. If you have young children, it may be necessary to have them cleaned more often, (the furniture that is. ) After having cleaned your furniture, we can also apply a fabric protector to help stop staining, which in turn keeps your furniture looking cleaner, longer. Be aware though, that we prefer NOT to clean COTTON furniture in times of high humidity, (rain), due to possible Cellulosic Browning or Mould Spores attaching to the fibres. We do make exceptions for premises where the air conditioning can be left on for several hours during & after cleaning. Here's a grey cotton chair which we attended to recently, before & after pics. The suite in the background had already been cleaned.

23.01.2022 At last the wet season appears to be ending. Our other business, Cairns Leather Care, has been getting a fair bit of work with the rain & humidity easing. Here’s a nice finished (Pigmented) leather modular with chaise in white, which we cleaned and applied protection cream to today.... There was also a Skanda type chair & footstool as well. While we were there, we also cleaned the Oriental rug for the client.

16.01.2022 Mattress cleaning OR Mattress Sanitising?? We have different methods for different problems. If you are suffering from Household Dustmites, we can possibly solve these problems for you by using our AllerX Dustmite machine fitted with an Ultra Violet light that denatures the Der P1 in the dustmite faecies that causes the Allergic Reaction.... The mattress & pillows are also then treated with a residual spray that inhibits further Household Dustmite problems for up to six months, & many times, much longer. This is a relative dry cleaning treatment, where the bed can be used within an hour of treatment. If the mattress has urine or other problem areas, these can also be treated, but do take longer to properly treat & clean to an acceptable standard, and also naturally, take much longer to dry. Our aim is to give you a healthy mattress to sleep on. As some stains may be permanent on some fabrics, we cannot always guarantee complete stain elimination, but the mattress & pillows will be a healthy clean. 11.01.2022 Since 1982 in Cairns, Get Shorty has been cleaning carpet, upholstery & mattresses in residential properties. We also apply Fabric Protection to new or recently cleaned furniture. However, we also have a commercial business, Cairns Commercial Carpet Care.... This business cleans all carpet & upholstery, including leather, in commercial properties. Commercial work has been fairly non existent for these past few weeks due to the COVID 19. However, we had a previous client contact us to do a "safe" clean of the carpet throughout their entire offices prior to staff returning to work next week. Unfortunately, I was unable to take interior photographs due to security concerns. I'm sure that many will recognise this well known, world wide acclaimed tourist attraction. New signs go on the van next week. The red sign is being replaced with an updated leather logo sign.

01.01.2022 Delia & Shorty also clean & restore leather furniture, leather jackets & other Leather clothing as well as leather hand bags. The owner said her leather cleaned up a treat. Better than she thought it would.... Furniture is twelve year old finished (Pigmented) Leather).
