20.01.2022 The sense of overwhelm is palpable. It’s also expected and normal. However, we must find a middle ground to protect our minds from being infected by fear. This does not mean dismissing the brutality of our new reality, or turning on our peers and friends who are suffering; but it does mean we must ground ourselves, breathe, and meditate so you can navigate from a place of intelligence, compassion and equilibrium. Each one of us has something to offer during this time. I have now uploaded a beneficial breathing exercise and some mindful meditation practices on my website www.getzest.com.au for anyone to access. It is there for you to use, to practice and to ground yourself. Please pass it on to anyone you think may benefit. #staywell#breath #mindfulness#weareallinthistogether #mentalhealth #stress #overwhelm
19.01.2022 When we learn how to calm and focus our mind, we are able to see. When we can see how things really are, we cultivate a more positive way of relating to life. The practice of Mindfulness develops a wiser understanding and acceptance of ourself and life as a whole. While Mindfulness doesn't eradicate our problems, it does however, improve our capacity to navigate physical, emotional and mental challenges with more equilibrium, resilience and acceptance. 11.01.2022 It’s been a rewarding few months working with Nexus Psychology EAP and other organisations delivering a variety of short cyber wellness breaks to support mental and physical health. During a time where so much seems out of our control, our wellbeing is one thing we can control. Take care.
11.01.2022 There is a place of strength and wisdom in each of us. The rapid and daily change of our new reality calls for us to create new structures to ensure we stay level headed, safe, healthy and hopefully even thrive. Stress does not need to become you. There is so much available online and offline that can help you carve a new path to stay healthy in mind and body. From online exercise, art, mindfulness, courses, group singing, counseling or offline reading, writing, listening to... podcasts, creating, playing, reconnecting etc. Open your mind, open your heart and be open to approach difficultly as an opportunity to grow. The last few weeks I have been delivering mindfulness, meditation and exercise classes to various organisations, long standing clients and friends. Some sessions are short 15 minute meditation zoom breaks, others are one hour wholesome exercise classes. Some of these sessions have fostered a sense of feeling connected to others who are feeling the pinch of remote life. For others, joining online sessions reminds them that they do have the capacity to skillfully use their minds to manage difficulty; and others, simply enjoy the feeling of pausing to recalibrate and break up the intensity of their day. Whatever it is, we are all unique, we all have different needs and wants. For now though, whatever your scenario, there is something out there for you. Find your strength and connect to your wiser self. Carve your new path to support your well being. Ps Meditation practices now available on my home page!
