25.01.2022 We want to share this and invite your prayers for Thembeka and her team, those who were going to the 2020 world council and disrupted plans. We pray especially for an end to the illness and anxiety and put our faith and to trust in our mighty Lord God.

25.01.2022 Our World President, Thembeka is really moving around with new GFS groups - we pray for God's richest blessings in their groups.

25.01.2022 A prayer for our current situation

21.01.2022 It is with deepest regret that I inform you all of the death of our dear sister in Christ, Lyn Vaak. Many of you will be aware that of more recent times Lyn has been very ill. She died peacefully, in hospital, surrounded by her family. As we mourn our loss, we give great thanks to God for her faithful ministry including that through GFS in many forums, Branch, Diocesan, State and National. We send our love and prayers to all her family and friends, especially those in Sydney who have only recently farewelled her to Newcastle. May we place our cares and concerns on Christ as we ask that Lyn may now know God’s peace and rest eternal. Cheryl

21.01.2022 Don't forget our orange days, 25th of each month . Violence is violence and is not ok.

13.01.2022 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence written and submitted by The Rev. Canon Connie Sanchez, Diocese of Honduras, Province IX Representative Translated ...to English by The Rev. How long, Oh Lord? It is the lament of the helpless, of those who suffer because of violence and injustice, How long, Oh Lord? It's the scream that bursts in the silence claiming the desire for a better world. A world where our prayers embrace those who experience oppression, humiliations and contempt, A world where children and women are respected as whom they are, God´s children, How long, Oh Lord? It's the cry of the Psalmist, and it's also us screaming and yearning for a fairer, more equitable society, more complete, overflowing of God's love, where hate, indifference, and violence are banished, where our children can play, grow with hopes and go after their dreams, where their firm steps and the accumulation of acquired knowledge, grant them a respectable job and a dignified life, where they can dream, be and live as who they are, Children of God, princes and beloved princesses of the Great I Am.

12.01.2022 I wanted to contact everyone and reassure you all that you remain in my prayers and thoughts in these difficult times. I have been away on annual leave and greatly appreciative of enjoying the wonders and relative safety, (and lack of connectivity) of the far north western regions of my second home, in Tassie. We were not prepared to leave our own home back in Queensland unattended as fire at this time of year is always a threat. Never more so than presently. So I ask as al...ways that no matter where we are in this big wide land we call home, we continue to hold each other in prayer, maybe offer a word of check in or encouragement to any we know to be in direct threat at any stage. Together we bear one another's burdens as we have in GFS for 145 years. What strength we can derive from continually walking humbly with our God. Knowing even in the most difficult and frightening times in our lives God is with us. Love and prayers, Cheryl

11.01.2022 Yesterday was to be the beginning of world council in South Africa. But it was not to be. Instead a smaller number were online together last night. Thanks to Thembeka for organising this amazing event. Thank you for Melissa and her encouraging words to look for good as our everyday behaviour.

08.01.2022 Let's join Thembeka in praying for our world - it affects us all in some way.

07.01.2022 Up to your neck in it I bet for some of us right now we might be feeling like we are up to our neck in it! What ever your ‘it’ is. Sometimes the ‘it’ is self-imposed and other times ‘it’ may be imposed on us. Either way when we are up to our neck in ‘it’ often we can’t see anything else. As we approach Easter of 2020 it is sure to be like no other we have ever known or experienced and possibly for all the reasons we could have never thought of. A long time ago I’m sure th...e disciples and Jesus’ family and friends possibly felt the same way. Yet here we are such a long time into the future waiting expectantly again for Easter morn to dawn. For us all to stop, pause and pop our heads out of ‘it’ and look around at the new beauty. Be assured, God will still be there in the beauty of the Easter Dawn. What does the Lord require of us; to seek justice, Love Mercy and Walk humbly with our God. Easter Blessing be upon you all at this time. Love and prayers, Cheryl See more

04.01.2022 Some comforting words from our Chaplain, in our Sunday newspaper

04.01.2022 Such a fitting tribute to an inspiring lady who lived out the motto.

02.01.2022 A Lenten greetings to you all GFS Worldwide. As we continue praying for this Coronavirus to settle down, let's sensitize our branches to be couscous in prevent...ing the spread of this virus. It is good that we are advised not to touch each other and wash our hands now and then in fact all information is at our disposal in all countries. Let's try to contain this virus . Let's assist our government as Communities. While praying let's do our part. I am positive even this one is going to pass. Thembeka Pama GFS Worldwide President. See more
