25.01.2022 How can we know where we're going when we don't know where we've come from? Do you have any historical information regarding the Gin Gin Show Show? If so, we'd love to see it, and if possible, copy it. This brochure, published on the Jubilee year of our nation - 1951 - recently came into our care. It includes a photo of the opening of the original Gin Gin Show on 24th May, 1904. At the same time, we received 2 small photos of the grounds, taken in 1941. Thanks for the determination & forward thinking shown by a much earlier generation in our community which paved the way. Successive committees have worked hard to overcome obstacles, raise funds & put in the labour to build the Showgrounds into what they are today. As always, none of this would be possible without the support of the community, benefactors and sponsors.

20.01.2022 We have received confirmation from all of our 128 Shows and can confirm that no Queensland Ag Shows affiliated Agricultural Shows will be taking place in 2020 a...ll that had advised they where postponed have made the heart wrenching decision to cancel. Everyone is very excited for a bigger and better 2021. Remember our shows need your support more then ever!

17.01.2022 Hope you got to see the Ekka fireworks on 7! Like us, just because we have no 2020 Show doesn't mean there's not lot's going on in the background!

13.01.2022 Showgrounds are the main hub for communities. When Natural Disasters hit, the Showgrounds turn into Evacuation Centres or Emergency Centers without hesitation. ...From Fires to Floods and now Covid-19 Testing Facilities. This is a scary time for Agricultural Shows and all associated to the shows. We can't thank everyone enough! 05.01.2022 After 12 years as Treasurer, Miriam plans to spend more time with family, on the golf course & travelling. She has done so much for our Society, handling our f...unds wisely, keeping all the financials in ship shape and computerised all our Show's organisational processes in the office. Thanks for EVERYTHING Miriam - as you said, you won't be able to stay away from the place & we look forward to seeing that smile & hearing that giggle when you pop into the Office for a catch up. 02.01.2022 We've had great response after generating a QR code for the grounds. This allows us to electronically record all visitors to the grounds - campers & volunteers ...- and be able to provide this information to health authorities within the hour if requested. All info is stored electronically in Sydney & is NOT passed on to 3rd parties for advertising etc. Stay safe! See more
