18.01.2022 Thank you Mrs Zadow for such a powerful message at Chapel this morning!

17.01.2022 Last week we finished up with our closing services followed by a day of professional development (PD) and a day of goodbyes. Our PD day included a fun Uber Eats challenge where we got to decorate our team tables in a Christmas theme; the first team to have their Uber Eats delivered closest to 1 pm won! On Friday we farewelled Marion, Kate and Shane. Shane received his gifts: an RM Williams satchel, a wallet and a wash bag. He was very grateful and thanked our wonderful community who contributed to his gifts.

17.01.2022 Our students loved working in our kitchen garden during Golden Time. They learned about different herbs and touched, smelled and tasted the leaves to try and guess what they were! There was lots of enthusiasm! Our children jumped at the opportunity to be involved in the planting and fertilising and they are excited that they can now look after the garden and watch it grow!

16.01.2022 These Christmas trees have been decorated by our students in Art class and have adorned our foyer until now. The first was decorated by students across the school. It is painted purple with golden stars on the discs to represent the night sky over Bethlehem on the night of Jesus’ birth. The Christmas story is written around the edge of the tree. The second tree was decorated by the Foundations and was linked to our Sharing the Planet unit. They looked at seasons and what they... do in those seasons. The third tree was decorated by the 1/2C class who collaborated in small groups to come up with their own creative ideas about what their panel should look like. Each group picked a theme and designed their panel. If you are wondering where they have gone, they now sit among others at The Christmas Festival Tree Farm at Golden Fields which opened today and remains open throughout December. Many thanks to our local Men’s Shed who made the trees for local schools and community groups to decorate and place at the farm in the absence of the Tea Tree Gully carols that were cancelled due to COVID.

16.01.2022 One of my favourite things to do as a Member of Parliament is to show students around their Parliament House. It was a pleasure to show students from Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School around this morning and I was so impressed by their knowledge of our system of government.

15.01.2022 In a South Australian first, all of our girls across Years 5 and 6 had an amazing opportunity today to participate in the Academy for Enterprising Girls STEM Workshop. They worked digitally with Daniella Di Santo (a globally recognised IT specialist!) and Mrs Hughes to identify global and local problems impacting people and the planet and began formulating ideas on how to use technology to provide solutions. Our girls used the skills of the future including collaboration, communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity and much much more! Our heartfelt thanks are extended to the Tech Girls Movement and Academy for Enterprising Girls for this unique opportunity, as well as to Mr Napier and Mr Gardner for also conducting a STEM workshop with our boys!

15.01.2022 We are looking forward to the much anticipated Sports Day tomorrow. We would love our community to participate in sharing photos via our Facebook and Instagram accounts by tagging us - @gglps #gglps. When sharing, please be mindful that you only share photos of your own children, or those who you have parental permission to share via social media. We look forward to seeing your sports day photos and hope to share some of these in the yearbook! * remember to tag us @gglps #gglps - TIA

05.01.2022 We proudly announce that GGLPS won third place in the State Hiragana Competition, thanks to these four hiragana masters (Amber, Tahlia, Matthew and Kane)! The competition was held at the Education Development Centre, Hindmarsh on Tuesday 20 October. It consisted of three rounds of reading single hiragana characters, two-character words and a hiragana quiz. Although it was our first year participating in the competition, the students confidently demonstrated their hiragana knowledge. Well done team; we are so proud of you! The students will also be sharing their experience at assembly next week.
