16.01.2022 $3000 a year saving on power bills is now the reality for this picturesque outback property. We recently designed and installed a unique system to meet the energy needs of this cattle station, including 6kW of Opal panel and 2 x SMA 2.5kW inverters. Zero export as (like most rural properties) the station runs on SWER.

13.01.2022 Air con tip for the budget-conscious: In high humidity (like we’ve got now with these lingering showers interspersed with bouts of sunshine), run your units on ‘dry’ at around 25C. This dries out your house but costs less to run than the ‘cool’ setting and helps keeps mould growth at bay. ... Some households rarely turn on their a/c and use it only as a last resort because they want to keep their power bill down. But remembering this tip can save much more in the long run because averting damp build-up helps avoid expensive property repairs or replacements in the future.
