15.01.2022 The revival 640 weekender at the Coorparoo Marine looks like a great boat for Morten bay to take the kids out being built in Melbourne you know they are good for bay conditions when it gets choppy. The Clarks on show are worth a look if you are looking for alloy side console Clark Aluminium Boats the 490 legend sc looks great which is one of there new releases.m and the 460 rebel pro has great features.
12.01.2022 Quintrex Project stage 2 Day 1 so after taking the boat to 3 different repairs no one wanted to touch the repairs to the hull only reskin at a cost of 3 to 4k which is out of my price range for now. So i have removed 2 of the 3 damaged and corroded bulkheads with 1 more to remove having a look at the corrosion made me think back to the days where i used composites. I then went back through some of my old trade book on composites and those associated with bonding of aluminium... and the idea sank in that the with the new generation of epoxy's i may be able to effectively lay up the corroded areas to give some thickness back and done the right way even strengthen. now the only reason i'm considering this is the hull is still water tight with no leaks. i know this may be controversial to some but the other option is the recycle centre and this old quinnie is to good to throw away.So watch this space for the progress check out the electrolysis in one of the bulkheads this was a result of an aluminium tank not being isolated from the hull if the tank had of been suspended i would have been install the new casting deck and console by now. 11.01.2022 Check out these great looking McLay and stessco alloy boats from Karee Marine the pick for me is the 651 crossover magic looking transom and layout is superb. Well worth a look it you are in the market for a 6m ish alloy boat. But don't under estimate the McLay 441 fortress one hell of a solid boat.
11.01.2022 Seajay and Barcrusher boats on show at Stones Corner Marine. The 490 ranger is the pick of the bunch for a good size side console with its raised bow gives you great freeboard for its size.
