25.01.2022 In the last few weeks I have recommended these two books to a lot of actors. They each examine tenacity, dedication, curiosity, determination and perseverance. ...Not to mention being honest, open and deeply moving. They are not instructional as such, although an Improvised Life does touch on this, but they are certainly inspirational reminders of how to apply yourself rigorously in order to satisfy what drives you. It could be an opportunity to explore your audition behaviour, material that you have for an upcoming audition or just to practice at this often tricky part of the industry. As actors we don't usually get feedback after an audition and that can make it difficult to change patterns we get ourselves into. 05.01.2022 The thought of a lifetime of auditions may seem daunting. Each one is a test of nerves, if not a full-blown crisis of confidence. Its true for everyone, but the best never let it show. Casting directors arent judging you; they are rooting for you. Thet want you to be the one the actor whos perfect for the role that is casting. Make them believe you are great they will believe you.
