21.01.2022 RESILIENCE IS THE NEW BLACK! Psychologists define resilience as the process of adapting well in the face of adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or significant sources of stresssuch as family and relationship problems, serious health problems, or workplace and financial stressors. Resilience is made up of five pillars: ... self awareness, mindfulness, self care, positive relationships & purpose. Self awareness. Self Awareness is having a clear perception of your personality, including strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. Self Awareness allows you to understand other people, how they perceive you, your attitude and your responses to them in the moment. Mindfulness. Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience. Self care. Self care is unique for each person and can be understood in many different ways. In its simplest form, the term refers to our ability as human beings to function effectively in the world while meeting the multiple challenges of daily life with a sense of energy, vitality, and confidence. Self care is initiated and maintained by us as individuals it requires our active engagement. Positive relationships. Positive Relationships are the people who support and care for us and we care for them. One of the most profound experiences we can have in our lives is the connection we have with other human beings. By building positive relationships with others, we will be happier and more fulfilled and feel more supported, supportive, and connected. Positive and supportive relationships will help us to feel healthier, happier, and more satisfied with our lives. Purpose. Purpose is a recognition that we belong to and serve something bigger than ourselves. Our purpose helps to shape the mindset and attitude we have toward others and the events we experience. We can find purpose in our faith, family, a political party, being green, or being a part of an organization like the Boy Scouts. https://www.bouncebackproject.org/resilience/

14.01.2022 Yesterday with a great client who is operating a wonderful growing enterprise I touched in the principle of harnessing effectively the energy available to an entrepreneur for maximum return. The principle I used to convey this was from Stephen Coveys book the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (1989) Stephen Coveys circle of concern and circle of influence... In his book Covey distinguishes between proactive people who focus on what they can do and can influence and reactive people who focus their energy on things beyond their control. Reactive people maintain an attitude of victimisation and blame. The model is based on two circles. The first is our circle of concern. This includes a whole range of things global warming, the state of the economy, the clothes your children want to wear, attitudes in society, the organisation you work for, the things your colleagues do, the way people drive their cars etc. The actual list will depend on the individual, but the important thing to understand is that there may be little you can do about many of these things since they are outside your influence. Devoting energy on them may be a waste of time the equivalent of shouting at the television and time and energy once spent cannot be reused. Our circle of influence will be much smaller. It includes the things we can do something about. The extent of this will obviously be related to your power the President of the USA or Chair of Ford may have far more influence than you or me. The key is to focus your energy on those things that you can influence this will enable you to make effective changes. If you do this you will find your circle of influence starts to increase others will see you as an effective person and this will increase your power. Conversely, if all your energy goes into those things you cannot change your circle of influence will shrink. Not only will you drain your energy, other people may start to see you as unduly negative and critical. Knowing how far your circle of influence extends is an important aspect of personal effectiveness. So is forming partnerships and alliances you may not have any direct influence over something in your Circle of Concern, but you may know other people who do. A team can have a wider circle of influence than an individual. So reactive people find their circle of influence shrinks, while proactive people find that it increases.

11.01.2022 7 Types of capital that entrepreneurs need to be successful in business! (Part 5) 5. Financial Capital The ability to manage and understand wealth is one of the 7 capitals that entrepreneurs need to harness well if they are going to give their enterprises every possibility of succeeding... Finance is impartial, it is not emotional, it will work for the person who learns it laws and masters them. All entrepreneurs need to learn how to start with what they have as far as financial capital is concerned or figure out how to draw or attract more to themselves. Money comes to the right energy! (Clear vision, wisdom, competence, timing, opportunity) Application If you cannot manage $1000 well you will not be able to manage $1 million, learn how to manage and balance a budget. There are only two ways, challenge expenses and generate more income Most entrepreneurs waste financial capital on things in the start-up phase of an enterprise based on faulty assumptions. Challenge every expense and learn the difference between investing and spending Sometimes in the excitement of the dream entrepreneurs go all in unnecessarily or too quickly. If you are at the start of something work out a way to minimise the risk and pressure of having to make a certain return immediately. If you are established and this is about the launching of a new product or part of your enterprise, look for options such as consignments, partnerships or investors.

09.01.2022 Mind Maps As human beings we all live with a certain set of thoughts about ourselves and our ultimate potential which we usually call our mindset. A mindset is a system of beliefs that we have embraced over time and allowed to form into deep patterns of our thinking it causes us to behave and perceive ourselves, things and events in a certain way. 09.01.2022 7 Types of capital that entrepreneurs need to be successful in business! (Part 2) (Some of the seed thoughts for this outline came from a masterclass session that I was watching with Dr Charles Omele Speaking on it). 2. Emotional Capital... What I mean by emotional capital is your ability to become robust with regards to being emotionally stable and resilient For businesspeople this is extremely important as you will usually have to manage moments and sometimes seasons of rejection, delays and also failures. Your capacity to absorb, manage, process, learn from and bounce back from emotional trauma is going to be a huge factor in the realm of your success. Pain and pleasure are both great motivators (Though pain is the greater motivator of the two) and if harnessed correctly these emotions can serve to propel us to become better, bigger, kinder and wiser Application Part of the journey towards building emotional capital is prioritising your emotional wellbeing as something worth investing in Physical fitness, reflection and renewal, and a great diet is important Surrounding yourself with emotionally safe people who are caring, honest and seek your best interests are important to have around you (If you missed part 1 of this series go to my previous post and watch it) www.giantmakercoach.com

08.01.2022 Launching Rockets Anthony Robbins, when talking about what was required in order to bring change into your life said: "When you make a decision, you need to back it up with 'massive action' otherwise you will never break through into your new behaviour."... Did you know that the massive space shuttles that NASA launches into space carry millions of litres of fuel on board? Did you also know that the majority of the fuel stored in those tanks is primarily for the initial stages of the trip? This involves launching the shuttle and breaking free of the earths gravitational pull. Once this is done the larger fuel tanks are dumped and the with the smaller portion of the fuel that is left in the shuttle it manages to fly into orbit, circle the earth, re-enter the earth's atmosphere and land at the designated airfield. Life is like that! Anything that you want to change in your life is going to take massive energy, sacrifice and resolution of mind in the initial stages. However, once you have broken through, you will not have to keep using as much energy to keep moving forward. I feel most people quit way too early when they are trying to bring change into their lives. They incorrectly think that the massive energy that it took to bring change in the initial stages of trying to enlarge their lives is something that they are going to have to keep up for the rest of their lives, which is just not the case at all. One of my mentors used to say, The key to success in any endeavour in life is consistent focus in the one direction." Once you have decided what you want to change, strengthen or break through in, take 'massive action' and remain consistently focused. The power of the crowd and inaction will no longer hold you back. (From my Ebook "The Land of the Giants") Available on AMAZON!!

08.01.2022 Ordinary is for Wimps It usually takes real courage to stick your head out from amongst the crowd, the first thing that normally happens is that you will experience the taunts and jeers from those within the crowd of your life that notice you are no longer content in being one of them. Have you ever wondered why this is? [ 242 more words ] http://land-of-the-giants-book.com//08/ordinary-is-for-wi/

07.01.2022 Life happens Sometimes it really does not matter how well you planned out your dreams, business ideas, relationships or financial budgets, adverse circumstances will be a part of your existence, they will get in the way unexpectedly, so my advice would be to develop a positive attitude about them. No amount of wishing away or precise planning is going to make you untouched by the challenges and trials of life. There is always a dimension of fate, chance or luck to every si...tuation, which is "Just the way life works. I find that we grow the most as a person in the midst of trying circumstances, when everything is going well it usually means that we dont have to stretch past any comfort zones of personal development, but when the heat of adversity comes, its then that we need to dig deep and muster up all the courage, discipline and patience that we have, to overcome or outlast the situation. Most people know that they will face challenges and yet they seem totally shocked when they are confronted by them. Dream big by all means, but dont forget to brace yourself for the challenges that you will face when you begin to try and walk them out. My encouragement to you as someone who has a measure of experience of living in the crucible of challenges, is to hold fast and allow the situation to take the fat off your soul. Turn the situation into an opportunity to become a better human being. You will be amazed at how much more understanding, compassionate, considerate, open, patient, and a focused person you will become on the other side of your challenging situation. Diamonds are made under extreme pressure, the great things that need to become manifested in your life will be made the same way! It really is your choice on what position you are going to personally take when challenges come your way, you can choose to be a victim of them or a victor over them! www.giantmkercoach.com.au

07.01.2022 7 Types of capital that entrepreneurs need to be successful in business! (Part 4) 4. Mental Capital... Mental capital goes way beyond remembering names, it is about building the mental discipline to be able to retain and recall important facts and figures about the enterprise or field of discipline that you are engaged in Whilst EQ cannot be increased, what can be enhanced is your ability to carry a breadth of knowledge that will be useful to you as you position yourself in front of key people The formation of listening, reading and information collation strategies will be extremely helpful in this space Application Specialised reading of industry or discipline specific manuals, reports, and training material will help you build your knowledge base Collating notes and accessible files of specialised knowledge will assist you in getting your hands on the relevant information that you need quickly Practising repeating key information helps to solidify the pertinent knowledge deep inside your brain. www.giantmakercoach.com

06.01.2022 The Tree of You Mind Most of the current boundaries or limitations on your present life have their origin and answer in the realms of your thinking. Most people dont have money, relationship or circumstance problems; most people have thinking problems, which leads to all the other issues of life. ... If you could picture your mind as a tree and all the current challenges or problems you are facing like the fruit that hangs off the branches of that tree, they are the most visible part of the tree but they are not the main issue affecting your life. Your thinking would be like the root system, buried deep in the earth and not visible from the outside, yet the health and future of the tree (and thus your lifes experience) is primarily affected by the health of the root system. I coach and mentor many people that when they first come to me are usually dominantly so fruit-focused about their lives that they are almost oblivious to their root system. After I have allowed them to explain all the challenges and circumstances (fruit) that are in their lives, I begin to take them on a journey to help them discover where they are at in their thinking and core beliefs (roots). Unless we get to work on root beliefs it will not matter how much we focus on their behaviours (fruit). Except from "Land of the Giants" (Keys to Unlocking Your Fullest Potential) By David Balestri EBOOK COMING SOON!!

02.01.2022 How Did You Die? by Edmund Vance Cooke ... Did you tackle that trouble that came your way With a resolute heart and cheerful?Or hide your face from the light of dayWith a craven soul and fearful?Oh, a trouble's a ton, or a trouble's an ounce,Or a trouble is what you make it,And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,But only how did you take it?You are beaten to earth? Well, well, what's that?Come up with a smiling face. It's nothing against you to fall down flat,But to lie there -- that's disgrace. The harder you're thrown, why the higher you bounce;Be proud of your blackened eye!It isn't the fact that you're licked that counts,It's how did you fight -- and why?And though you be done to the death, what then?If you battled the best you could,If you played your part in the world of men,Why, the Critic will call it good.Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce,And whether he's slow or spry,It isn't the fact that you're dead that counts,But only how did you die? https://youtu.be/lWQ8MUIdXqQ

02.01.2022 Dont Wait For The clouds There is a saying in the bible that says something like this: Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. *(2) If you are waiting for conditions to be perfect before you make your move, you may end up waiting all your life. Sometimes just when you think all your ducks are about to come into a row, there is a tendency for one of them to move out of line. 01.01.2022 7 Types of capital that entrepreneurs need to be successful in business! Part 3 3. Relational Capital This speaks about your ability to relate to and be winsome with people, from the doorman to the CEO (Gatekeepers are really important)... People at the end of the day want to do business with people that they like Your capacity to understand and positively influence people is a major factor in the amount of opportunities that will come your way Application Everybody you meet has a story to tell you, until you understand some of that story you will not really know them When you first meet someone, they are asking you 3 questions in their emotions that they will never ask with their mouths. 1) Do you like me? 2) Can I trust you? 3) Will you do what you say?
