23.01.2022 Although 2020 has not been what we expected for community sport we do have a lot to look forward to. Stage 1 of the West oval redevelopment is moving along at a great pace and will be our new home in 2021. #gwgiants #communityculturepathways
23.01.2022 Hi Everyone Geelong West Giants would like to thank you all for your support, patience and cooperation over the past few weeks as we navigate our way through the challenges that COVID 19 has presented to local community sporting clubs such as ours. It is our priority that the health, Wellbeing and safety of our players and members is paramount and we will do what we can to make sure kids are participating in what they love, playing footy but we need everyone’s support and com...pliance to make sure this happens. From Today Friday 31st July ahead of the mandatory Sunday date we are asking all spectators to wear a mask. The ultimate goal is to keep kids playing safely and AFLB will not hesitate shutting down the competition if people can not adhere to protocols. Also a strong reminder that only spectators necessary should be there which means strictly 1 parent/carer per family and where possible to remain in your cars otherwise you must be wearing a mask. Due to the ever changing days with school closures etc, fixtures will be released week by week. If you have any questions please contact Abbey or myself.

19.01.2022 A huge thank you to all our club volunteers that have worked tirelessly through the constant challenges that covid protocols have presented. We value your dedic...ation and commitment and acknowledge that without your selfless actions our kids would not have had experienced the joy they have had for the last few weeks playing the game they love. #gwgiants #communityculturepathways See more
18.01.2022 Hey everyone, here is the link to register! Please do ASAP, preferably in the next few days if you can! As we need to organise team sheets and sort everything out for the weekend! The club have been incredibly fair with offering the following registration fees. When setting these fees they have been mindful of the importance of our young people continuing to engage in sport and have taken into account that many families will be finding the current climate financially challen...ging. U/9’s - U/11’s $90 U/13- U/18 Girls $115 For those of you that have paid full fees and are seeking a partial refund please message Kate Rainbird or Abbey Chapman for link to apply https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi

17.01.2022 Hi Giants Unfortunately we have made the tough decision to shut all training down that was to happen tomorrow and Wednesday. We believe this is the safest option with the ever growing number of schools with potential Covid cases. We have been lucky enough to dodge many bullets so far and would believe it to be irresponsible on our behalf to let training go ahead. In regards to JUMPERS, Can I ask that they ALL be dropped off tomorrow afternoon at Bakers oval between 4:30 - 5...:30. There will be tubs with age groups placed outside near the doors, if you could pop you jumpers in the correct tub that would be fab. Once again everyone please stay safe, stay connected and Thank you
17.01.2022 First round of Junior Footy & Netball are up
17.01.2022 Giants, players, supporters, families and friends! We are nearing the end of the Toyota Good For Footy Raffle and as you can see we are in 7th place on the nati...onal leader board. Awesome effort. With only a few weeks until the raffle ends it would be fabulous to see one more push to get us over the 10k mark. Plenty of amazing prizes to be won from the raffle itself, but to create a bit of incentive to buy, share and sell these raffle tickets, we have introduced our own prize, that one player FROM THIS CLUB will win! Below I have created unique links for different sections of the club. If you use the links below, I will know which section of the club you are from (or buying for). When you share a link, share your own link for your section and make sure you use your link to buy your own tickets. Here’s the fun part. When ticket sales end on 13th August, whichever section has sold the most tickets, every single player from that section who bought a ticket, their name goes into the draw to win a free membership!! (Hopefully for 2020, if not, for 2021). Let’s have some fun with this and go into the draw to win so many amazing prizes!!! Winners will be notified on 20th August. ***For those that have already bought a ticket and didn’t use one of these unique links, please message me so I can find out what section you would like to buy for but make sure if you buy any more, you use one of the below links*** Juniors https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian Womens Football https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian GFL Netball https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian GFL Football https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian GDFL Netball https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian GDFL Football https://toyotagoodforfooty.raffletix.com.au/geelongwestgian

12.01.2022 Please see attached letter from AFLB. As a precautionary action Junior footballers and netballers that go to Clonard College or have a family member that attends Clonard College are NOT to attend training until further advice. This is purely a preventative measure to protect the continuation of our Junior competition. Thanks for your understanding
10.01.2022 Hi All, Based on today's announcements I am going to need everyone's assistance in the coming days to ensure we are able to comply with Government requirements and also ensure I am able to meet the club requirements. With that in mind: At this stage there is no comment from AFL Barwon therefore training will still proceed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday night as usual.... I would ask that all jumpers you may have are handed back to me on your night, should the season be put on hold I will have only the one chance to have all equipment returned and accounted for. The end of the year is always a massive job to ensure all equipment is returned but potentially should AFL Barwon cancel the season I will have one night to do what generally take a fortnight. So sorry to put this in capital letters but PLEASE HAND YOUR JUMPER TO ME AT TRAINING IF YOU CANNOT MAKE TRAINING I WOULD AT THE LEAST REQUIRE YOU TO CALL BY AND HAND IN YOUR JUMPER. I will keep you posted with updates as they become available, the Government site states all Community Sport will stop under Stage 3 restrictions. Thank you all for your continued support. Kate and Abbey
