13.01.2022 Giant Steps is an autism specialist school. The school utilises a transdisciplinary approach, integrating both teaching and therapy (speech, OT and music) throughout all programs which are individualised and designed to be motivating and engaging. Teachers and therapists work together to educate the children whilst supporting them by tending to their individual needs. Giant Steps Sydney was founded in July 1995 by a group of parents who wanted the best for their children with... autism. It started as a small school of 12 students. Now, over 20 years later, it has grown enormously and become a leading educational centre for children with autism and their families. Due to the demand for improved services and schooling for children with autism, Giant Steps Melbourne opened in February this year. It has an incredible team of staff led by principal Trish Karedis and currently supports 11 students and their families.
